Thanks. It's okay. It's very light, and not super smooth, which is typical of plastic molds. It would be cool if it could have that heaviness and glassiness of a Cody mold, but I accept that his heavy-ass molds are super premium and unusual. This one got the job done. I'm content with the price ($104 for two 4-slotters, including shipping from France). Now I have the beli bunch roasting in the oven. It's very beli-headed: a very quick slope, no long tapery torpedoy thingy.

Wonderful video~! The textures and colors are transfixing. I've rolled a few smokables in my time, but it's clearly best an art left to the professionals. Been thinking a lot about "love your work" BS lately, but I'll settle for "work with skill/passion" like you demonstrate here. 'Demonstrate a Japanese-like perfection ethos to at least one thing in your life' is something I'm still working out. Makes me happy to watch you doing yours. In particular, the wrapper leaf is an impressive specimen. I don't mean this in a bad way, and it didn't creep me out too much, but it's pliancy and resiliency are not so dissimilar to human epidermis. I'd wager cigar rollers might actually be very capable surgeons. ¡Saludos doctor!

It's not work for me, though, since I don't work in a factory or have a quota to hit. It's just a meditative hobby. I roll figurados pretty often, but this is my first roll with a "perfect" perfecto mold rather than one with different tapers at each end. For your cigar clue what ratio of powder to water do you use? The first time I used too much water and the second time I used the manufacturer recommend half teaspoon per the amount of powder provided and it wasn't enough water to even dissolve the powder.
@BlissCigarCo
@BlissCigarCo 7 ай бұрын
Are you trying to use that crap glue that comes with the WLT kits? There is no ratio for that, it's just bad. For the Bermocoll I use, the ratio is ~5-1 water-powder.

@BlissCigarCo
@BlissCigarCo 7 ай бұрын
@@jbachmann6386 Okay. So, since there are zillions of Bermocolls, they all behave differently and you have to find the ratio. Also, some go almost straight to gel, others need to be heated up. The stuff I use, commercial grade stuff, has to be heated. So I stir it and set it on my expresso machine set to Steam (hot), and stir it now and then until it's good. It goes a super long way, so like a shallow tea spoon of powder, 5 of those of water.

Wow this is so complicated to roll I love a good cigar and I love the variety of it. I just feel if I start rolling my own, I will face the issue of a very limited amount of blends to buy. There are a couple, yes, you can blend them yourself, true, but back when I had my cigar store, I sold 700 different cigars. And I could easily get more if I wanted to. That's the only limitation I see, but it definitely would be nice to roll your own either way. Are maduro tobaccos difficult to get? Any sources you know of?
@BlissCigarCo
@BlissCigarCo Ай бұрын
So, your comment is super interesting to me, as someone with 30 years of rolling and blending experience. On the simplest level, let me just say that with three good filler leaves you can do 1000s of filler varieties; and yet the biggest changes by far come from the wrappers. So, e.g. you could find one good filler set and then buy 8 wrappers an be set for life for variety. I do know of many good maduro varieties but most are not retail. WLT's habano maduro is okay, LO's Habano viso is good, and Ultimo's MSA is excellent.

@@BlissCigarCo oh cool. Is it just based on it aesthetically or is the blend similar too?
@BlissCigarCo
@BlissCigarCo 7 ай бұрын
@@FloppaFan400 Aesthetically. I don't have access to their particular leaf, which is the essence of the blend. It does have some things in common, though: Ecuador habano wrapper, Brazil binder, Brazil and DR filler.

I wish you posted where to get the mold instead of the music details. Can you post where to buy that mold? Or can I buy yours? I have had to buy an antique mold that needs a lot of work.

Because cigar leaf has two sides going opposite directions, every roller rolls 50% of their cigars left-handed.
