One tip that hasn't failed me is to always have a spare cigar of whatever you're smoking when you're at a lounge or event. I don't tend to bring out insanely difficult to find cigars when I go to a lounge because 1) I'm not there to show off. 2) I want be able to enjoy and relax with a trusted stick. A stick that I'd be comfortable to recommend regardless of price or hype. Sometimes that stick can be a pricey one (depends on flavor profile I'm in the mood for), but most of the time my favorites are accessible, so chances are I'd have several of these already in my humidor. So I always carry an extra or two. That way if I get into a convo about what I'm smoking and if I see the person is really interested, I'd have the opportunity to give them the same cigar so they could experience it for themselves right there on the spot or for them to enjoy at a later date. As a bonus, It also tends to make new friends.

That was great!! What you said about “not talking politic” is dead on! I was at our local cigar bar, a couple of months ago, and a guy was talking so much about his political party, that it almost, literally, caused a fight! Once the guy decided to leave, someone said that he’d been kicked out of a couple more bars for doing the same thing.

Number 1 was good. I think a lot of people do not take that in to consideration. Number 2 so true, especially with lower end cigars or a cigar that is not rolled very well you get a little flakey as well. Number 3 is my favorite, I love it I've seen people get so butt hurt because of this in lounges like in the 2018 era...Number 4 good as well. always that one that "only smokes Cuban's". Number 5 In a well ventilated area not so bad but deff in crappy lounge that has crap ventilation deff good not to stomp it out. Good advise for new and seasoned smokers alike. Thanks for the video my man.

Tried my first cigar today. It was alright but smoked it in a lounge that I do not think was ventilated that well and was full of harsh smoke and could smell it all along. So I think it would have been better and more pleasurable had I tried it in better environment where there is no harsh oder around. But thank you for the video. Very informative. I might just try smoking one outside instead next time.

Good suggestions and very considerate of others. One that always comes to my mind, as it relates to smoking in a shop/lounge, is to make sure and buy the cigar you smoke from the establishment in which you are smoking. Seems very rude to me to bring your home stash to a shop/lounge and use their facilities, yet not patronizing their business. And yes... I have seen this done. Just my two cents...... thanks.
@MardoCigars2 жыл бұрын
Very good point. It's like showing up to a restaurant with food you brought with you. I could see smoking one from your traveling humidor of your own if you bought some other cigars at the time of your visit, but not just show up with your own stick and not buy anything. Shops and lounges need every support they can get to keep great place up and running. Thanks for watching.

Loved this. Absolutely agree with your opinions on this. Yeah that #4 is a pretty common occurrence. I can't tell you how many times my face mimicked my YT Avatar because of it. I've also encountered the guy that brags about only smoking limited edition sticks, or the most hyped brands. That can be equally annoying because LE sticks aren't always better than readily available sticks and dismissing other sticks just because they are not LE or over $20 in cost is a sheer sign of ignorance.

Lounges differ greatly, but these are some golden rules. Please don't come to the lounge talking political TV hot takes. If I wanted to hear that, I'd stay at home and watch the news. Just be nice and respectful, that's it. I went to my first lounge not knowing a thing about it and was blown away at how helpful the locals were in the humidor for choices and their favorites, but also how graciously quiet, respectful, and chill everyone was in the ambient light and smooth jazz.

When it comes to rule #4. Do you tell them they're smoking fakes or leave them be, or is it situation based
@MardoCigars2 жыл бұрын
Best not to say anything unless they ask. There is a lot about the experience that also gets created by how you feel about the cigar. Kind of like a placebo where your mind is telling yourself how great it is and if you tell someone a cigar isn't good while they are smoking it really pops that bubble. Who knows maybe they know it's fake? Thanks for watching.
@hdnw75372 жыл бұрын
@@MardoCigars thanks for the response. I always see the argument that fakes are floor sweepings and shouldn't be smoked, or that ppl are being swindled and should be told. Personally I think most don't want to hear it and aren't the most receptive when told, so it's a complete waste of time

Yeah, fam. I'm a cigar smoker for real, love the way they smell and smoke a lot. But I only really smoke outside and have COPD so I can't be inhaling a ton of second hand smoke (which ain't good even if ya have healthy lungs). I've also known multiple people with pretty bad allergies when it comes to tobacco smoke of any kind asthma, and a number of conditions that make em sensitive to smoke. So remember that being respectful about smoke ain't always about people being crybabies or anything like that. A lotta folks have real reasons for avoiding smoke and we have to always keep them in mind. We choose to smoke, and how we smoke, doesn't mean we get to make that choice for anyone else 💯 And yeah, political conversations are very important, it matters a lot. People have to talk about these things and generally lack respect for people who say otherwise. But there are a few places and times that I think we should give it a rest and lounges are high on the list.
@TheAsthmatic912 жыл бұрын
I believe that "political" talk isn't talked about enough, and that's why people get heated over it. Also, many people tend to believe the propaganda that's fed to them by the MSM, and don't want that illusion broken. The country is where it's at because we don't talk about current events enough. Our "rulers" keep us busy talking about sports and entertainment. Let Rome be a lesson. Bread and circuses is how a country falls, cause nobody wants to talk about what's really going on. Soon, it won't be a subject to be avoided.

@Arthurian. if you have issues that's a personal thing. As I said (a year ago) if you can't handle it...simply don't engage in that conversation. The Archie Bunker Rule applies to cigar smoking as well. Don't talk to Archie about religion, politics....or anything else. I don't talk politics with people I don't know. Why ruin a good cigar with political talk? I prefer to smoke cigars alone, with my dog or close friends and family.I don't like cigar lounges. I like to buy cigars and accessories there, that's it. In and out. Many, not all, of these places seem boojie and pretentious. I also don't like to be critiqued by strangers. I wish that I had been into cigars when my grandfather was here.
