I took this laser on holiday and am very impressed with it.
How long does the battery last? No Idea. I've used it for 15 rounds now and the battery indicator still shows fully charged. It's going to last a very long time.
The range finder is available on Amazon for £90. I think it's worth every penny.

This technology blows my mind, amazing how it must work. Nice round of golf by the way. Ron

A simple laser. It's the software that seems to differ. The nice round is coming on firday. Cheers.

A good tool for the price. I don't think there is any need to spend a lot of money.

That seems a good product for £90 ($125). I have something similar (a RedTiger) at a similar price point and am similarly pleased with it. I know that mine says it'll be 30,000 readings before it needs recharging, so I'll probably have died of old age by then!!! I find it amazing what £90 buys you! Mine is surprisingly accurate given the price point (as the Cigman appears to be). Having started to play golf before all this technology arrived, I find a laser far more liberating than a GPS as, certainly at my home course, I only use it once or twice a round as I "know what to hit" if I play the course "normally". I'll wait and see what happens at an away course! Interesting video, and reassuring about its accuracy. Thanks for sharing.

I don't use a laser that much. As you say, you know your own course. It's when I play away that it comes in useful and of course for accurate readings when I make videos. I'm quite happy to look at my watch and get the distance to the middle of the green. This one for £90 did the job and was accurate by the boards on the par 3's. No complaints at all. I don't need to buy one for £450 and I don't think naybody else needs to either.

I've heard caddys in thailand bring you beer, is this true? If so ive decided what im doing for Obon.

There is usually a drink stop every 4 or 5 holes. You can send your caddy off in the cart to get some if you can't wait for the next stop. Plan ahead. Take a bag, fill it with ice and buy enough each stop. They don't 'bring' you beer. It's all got to be paid for.

@@thehairygolfer Thanks for the response bud, how beginner friendly is it there would you think? and how much do you pay for a round with a caddy etc? I'd worry because I'm not a very good golfer that they'd get annoyed at me messing up shots.

@@TeraByteify It is very beginner friendly. There are also lots of seniors in their 70's playing forward tees and not breaking 100 anymore. Most courses will have 5 tees. Choose whatever tees suit you best. If it's the rainy season you want to play forward anyway as the ball goes splat with no roll. You can pay very little for golf out there but it might not be a nicely kept course. You can also pay up to 6500 Baht for a really good course. That is green fee, caddy fee, cart fee and the taxi. But not the tip for the caddy. Caddy tip starts at 400 Baht. You can have a nice days golf all in for 3800 Baht at a reasonable course. You can organise everything yourself, book tee times over the phone (they speak english) download a taxi app and save yourself some money. Or use Golf Asian and they will book everything for you. Hotel, tee times and provide their own drivers from the airport and all your golf. Worth the extra money for peace of mind. Caddies will not complain if you play poorly and lose balls. They caddy for all sorts of golfers and will do their best to make your day enjoyable. I always tip more than minimum, they do their best to keep you cool and help on the greens. You will enjoy it. If you get over heated you can stop in a drink stop and cool down, let a group through and relax as much as you like. Some golfers will stop for 90 minutes for lunch after 9 holes. The caddies are used to stopping.

@@thehairygolfer What a great response bud thank you very much for putting in the time to write it out. I live in Japan so flying out there is quite a bit cheaper than from the UK, the jpy is very weak at the moment but considering everything you get for the price that still seems very reasonable and it sounds very enjoyable. One thing I've run into in Japan is you can't play alone on most courses, which sucks for me as I don't know many other golfers especially at my low level. If they're more open to me playing alone in Thailand that would be great, after all what better way is there to spend your day. Based on your review and the amazon reviews I've decided to buy this rangefinder, partially for the course but also so that I can go to the driving range and get an accurate reading of how far I hit each of my clubs. I'm hoping I'll be able to hit at the range, point the rangefinder at my ball, and it will give me an accurate reading that I can then take to the course. I'm currently under hitting my shots because I'm practicing accuracy over distance. I feel like mastering a consistent swing is much more important than hitting the ball further at my level. I also own a garmin s40, but frankly I've had a bunch of problems with it, I'm hoping a software update and re-reading of the manual will sort those out, but having this cigman as a back up will certainly help. Thank you again!

I think it is cool that it is rechargeable!! I like you have shaky hands but I am getting better at using mine. I think it is cool that these thing are available. I think they help get better yardages than walking off from fairway markers or sprinklerheads. maybe an idea for a video comparing playing only using walked off yardages than with a rangefinder? Do you think it would make a big difference? 🏌‍♂⛳

@@ZaxDrumsandGolf I was always happy pacing it out from the 150 yard markers. I got to 5 that way. Never owned a watch until about 2017. But I do think a laser does help.
