This interviewer is excellent, he asks a question and then steps back and lets the actor answer. Cillian is so humble and talented. He is very generous in his credit. Looking forward to to future projects.

Congratulations Cillian on winning the Oscar. I knew it was yours after the third time I watched Oppenheimer. Having read the book many years ago, I knew you captured the essence of the book and his life beautifully. However, I thought you should have also received an Oscar nomination for the movie Sunshine. I watched that one (DVD) over 10 times. I can't remember how many times I watched the movie in the theater. Congrats again Superstar!

Nice! Yeah, I haven’t been this excited about a movie in a long time, and I think in an average writer / director’s hands, this would have been a conventional, schmaltzy, history channel reenactment style biopic, straight to streaming. Everyone involved decided to take this tired genre and push it WAY past its limits to create a very special cinematic experience.

I've liked Cillian Murphy ever since I first saw the movie '28 Days Later' back in 2004. I've liked Jason Clarke ever since he was in the show 'Chicago Code' back in 2011. They're both amazing actors.

The Irish can't say their "th" sound like in "think" (They say "tink" for think). But I didn't notice that in Openheimer from Cillian. Does Cillian have to actively think about the "th" sound when doing an American accent?
@lorrainecc99
@lorrainecc99 5 ай бұрын
We can say our "th" sounds thanks. In certain parts of the country it's dropped for convenience but Cillian doesn't do it. You can hear it in interviews all the time
@twalrus1
@twalrus1 5 ай бұрын
@@lorrainecc99 Cillian does do it, but in certain situations.I have heard him speaking and being interviewed in British programs and he does it then. He doesn't do it in American programs when being interviewed. He especially picks up the Irish heavy accent when the interviewer is Irish. I guess it's from all the acting and voice training that he is able to adjust to the interviewer. As for dropping a sound for convenience: 'at is a 'ery cheap excus' NO ONE drops a sound for convenience in language. Just say it's a sound the original language did not have.(The original language being Irish, Not English)
@lorrainecc99
@lorrainecc99 5 ай бұрын
@twalrus1 Oh you make me laugh. You should see all the sounds that the varying English accents drop in their *native* language. Of course the Irish language has an effect on the Irish accent but to say that it's the only reason for dropping a sound. Ridiculous! You don't need acting training to change your accent either. People do it all the time when travelling to other countries or even among people of a different race or class. "Codeswitching" it's called! Cillian does not drop his "th" to a "t". He softens it but it's still there.
@twalrus1
@twalrus1 5 ай бұрын
@@lorrainecc99 All I know is that every time I've heard a famous person say "I tink..." instead of "I think..." it has turned out to be an Irish person when I look up their wiki page.
@lorrainecc99
@lorrainecc99 5 ай бұрын
@twalrus1 Yeah... that's because *some* Irish people drop their "th". Emphasis on "some". Those that do it are not incapable of saying them and Cillian doesn't do it at all. You can literally hear him in this. Think, though, then, that - all pronounced with the "th."
