Hello Tom, we folks in our older years can tell as we do not have the same energy as before and wish we could do more, but that is life, we thank you for all your hard efforts and entertainment, tips, and tricks we have learned from you. Watching you sit by a crackling fire, drinking coffee is always such a thrill. Just talking about your life experience is more than enough. I never had a father who did anything outdoors related, and I have learned so much by simply watching you, even if you aren't "doing" anything "important" . My girls can attest that my "Viking" cooking, is really yummy! 😊

In these stressful times, I know a lot of ppl are looking for calm & quiet, getaway from reality videos to watch. Your channel is one of these for me. I'm not looking for exciting new content, I want peace. Your rustic nature videos & narration offer this tranquility. I totally understand about aging & needing new inspiration. Winter is a time of rest. Perhaps with a long relaxing vacation from the channel, you'll discover a new path that brings you inspiration & joy. Happy Yule to you & your family, Tom. Best wishes for the New Year, too. 🩵 & Light from So California. 🙏

I think that, throughout life, things change, one must adapt and continue. Everything is a process of change, a path that shapes us, gives us and takes away at the same time. Just like you said, those backpacks we carry. But the important thing is to have been able to do and enjoy what makes us happy. I hope you find that balance again, and with it the necessary inspiration to do what you like, knowing that you will always have people who love to see what you do, how you do it and the inspiration you generate. Greetings from Argentina, and a very happy Yule.

HAPPY solstice, it is truly worth celebrating . I'll pass on the sausage, lol, but I love the time spent at cimbrer camp. I'm here not to be dazzled by the new but to relax in the peace and tranquility of the old ways. An escape from today while enjoying your company around a warm fire, anything else is just details. Thanks for coming from the north, it's -20 C. I'm with my dog at the base camp (cottage), which is my only apartment. We go to the store once a week and each time we eat a hot black sausage with lingonberries with the dog. The sausage is made of blood and barley flakes. YULE is also our tradition. The god of light defeats the bull of darkness. The spring solstice is a decisive battle. Thanks for the perfect mood description. The fine milieu and every detail will go down in history as a description of how great it was also in the past times and traditions. In Finland, traditional customs were once filmed and acted out, which today is like reality TV of that time. Thank you for persevering and for making us happy with your work and videos, which represent good will and a comfortable life together, even though I see it through videos. 🐕 🙏

Well Tom. I first watched your videos back in the days of Covid. Your channel became, and has remained for me a “must watch”. Your content then was good and interesting but what made me watch was yourself. I hear KZbin is a more demanding place now and perhaps that is why the new subscribers are dropping but you know what Tom? You don’t need to prove anything to anyone or drive yourself for some sort of success that is measured by the YT algorithm. Your fans enjoy watching you and Cornelius out enjoying the forest and having a “delicious” meal together. You have added different types of content, but for me and I think for most of us, it has always been about the simple basic stuff. A man we can relate to, A meal, a new bit of “old school” gear, a campsite or a tarp. As long as you want to keep doing it my friend, I for one will always enjoy watching it. The mics are working great, the crackle of the fire comes over well. May you and all your family have a very merry Christmas and I wish you all a happy and healthy New Year and I look forward to your return in the new year. God bless you brother.

I don’t know your age Tom, but I’m a month away from 65. I’ve always loved bushcraft, backpacking, and just being in the woods. And as bad as I hate to admit it, sleeping on the ground after miles of hiking just isn’t as appealing as it once was! Your simple walks in the woods with lunch and Cornelius time are extremely pleasing to watch for me, the peace and tranquility very much welcomed in this insane world we live in! I always try to thank any KZbin creator I watch for the amount of time and work they pit into the production of videos, and I don’t imagine any of us can begin to understand just what all goes into this process! Whatever you post, I’ll be watching it, just don’t force yourself to do anything you don’t want to do! My hope is that while we might be seeing fewer bushcraft videos, that you might post more DIY channel shows! Your model building, leather craft, woodworking etc videos are pure gold, and I’d like to see more of them! Thanks for all you do, and Merry Christmas to you and yours! Tom in North Carolina
