An Idea for your heat shield on your stove. Put a few spacers between the shield and the wall. It will allow air to flow behind keeping the wood surface cooler AND more heat in your cabin. Doesn't have to be much. A couple of 3/8 nuts between the sheet and the wall. Run your wood screws through the middle. Quick fix.

I love that camp. It reminds of the garages in the garden apartments that I lived in. People would have their grills outside barbecuing, just relaxing. That was in Northeast Ohio. They set up their garages with chairs, and invite their friends over.

I love the entrance covering you have up to keep it warm inside your shelter, and the metal shield you put behind your heater to keep down the possibility of a fire. It is nice that you all are getting rain there since there are people here in California would love to have more rain since it is so dry there. The carbon dioxide detector is good to have there and I would recommend that you bring an empty can to your camp and place it on your heater and put some water in it to hold down the moisture inside your camp. Your sleeping bag and the other gear you have look great and those items will come in handy this Winter and with the other items you have you will be so warm. Your grill is nice and must be very handy when you want to cook a meal to eat and can use it to warm your water also. I love your meal, especially the steak you have and the beer is good with your meal also.

You can also use the ashes on a moist paper towel followed by a wet paper towel and then just dry it. The alkaline in the ashes is the cleaning agent and it's free.

Hi and Merry Christmas to you and your family.I was going to mention that you may want to keep a small bucket of sand handy and put some in the bottom of the stove after you set it up.From what I understand it will prevent the bottom metal of the stove from burning through and will make it last longer.Camp looks really nice with the lights and fire.Great job.Cheers.

Thank you this was so awesome! It felt warm and inviting, your easy comfortable demeanor is contagious. What a beautiful way to spend the night of yul. My celebration of yule (here in N.California) prepare home baked cakes & join the local elder women in sharing food and tidings with our community. For New Years my hubby & myself will spend overnight in our local wilderness. We really enjoy holiday times this way. More special coffee. I like it. Great place you got there. I just got my first Kuksa done. I used green Alder wood. I looked up how to dry it after I was done carving and the traditional way was to boil it in salt water till it sinks. I put it on a shelf to dry then sanded it. Not as thin as the beauty you made but it works. Sad about your Kuksa. I think I will be making many more. Love the vid.
