Omg! I would never feel comfortable again if I woke up to a stranger outside my tent! Wow! That's VERY strange that he walked away without even acknowledging his presence. I'm so glad you are okay! Maybe you could make or get something to put around the perimeter of your camp so that it could warn you or something in advance if someone is coming into your area.

I'm definitely glad you are okay!... But isn't it strange that he didn't even say anything to you? He should know that it's scary for anyone to wake up and see a stranger. A simple "sorry for walking up on you" or " just taking my dog for a walk" or something would have been the smart thing to do. I pray he doesnt come back. Thanks again for sharing your adventures!

My grandfather whom was born in 1882 allways put salt in his coffee past it down to my dad down to me down to my granddaughter , just a pinch thought, so drink up and enjoy

I always enjoy your videos. You make me want to get out and camp. I do Camp as much as I can but I am in a large city in the United States. It is not always easy for me to get out. So that's why I really like watching your videos it helps me relax. Also thank you so very much for that tip about the salt in the coffee. I have never heard of that. I definitely will try that tomorrow morning. I believe that may help the taste in my coffee as I do not like the bitterness. Thanks again for all of your information and videos. Getting caught up on videos and find another gem from Tom! Camp is really getting dialed in! I can't blame any visitors, it's a very inviting place and I'm sure the stew smelled wonderful. Very tasty stew you made. Then boiled water, coffee, salt, and last but not least, a little “kick”. Perfect. I hope he doesn’t come back again. That was strange. I would have been scared. Not of the dog, the man! If you recognize the dog, maybe you’ll see him around somewhere else and see who he might be. So the dog was on your bed sleeping, which meant he had been there a while. Your right that he probably had to go look for him. Stay safe my friend and have a wonderful weekend.

Salt cuts acidity just as sugar does. Some people even but a pat of butter in their cup with coffee. Coffee aficionados claim that coffee should NEVER be boiled it causes more acid to be released and damages the natural oils. Ideal temp for it to reach is around 192 F. I have been going toward the cold brew over the last few months after I hand grind my favorite brews. Another great vid, Tom. ATB, Cris.

Yeah I’ve read that to Cris 😉 But I really love my coffee when it’s has been boiled … it just enhances the flavour so much … but it’s a matter of taste … and the trick with salt in my coffee … just makes it even better 👌🏻☕️😋. Tom, your videos are of such a high standard and I like the the kit that you use and philosophy of the woodsman, even though you have modern equipment that was not available in the old days. I have some Sami ancestry and am familiar with the ritual of 'cooking' coffee. I put about 1/4 teaspoon of salt in my coffee Guksi (Kuksa) if the coffee has a bitter taste and it makes it much more mellow. I also like to add the occasional shot of Whiskey ;) Coffee that is 'cooked' appears to be higher in caffeine. Thanks for the link to Sami Coffee. Tom, Very nice video. About your segment on salt in coffee. I am in the U.S. and have been putting salt in my coffee for years as well. Maybe the idea for me came from my Norwegian mother. I do it most often when I will be keeping it for a while, say in a thermos. In my opinion, the salt helps keep coffee that will be enjoyed later from getting bitter as it is held in the thermos.
