A lot of people (including me) thought heroes were bad this format because of their low win rate on Duelingbook. It goes to show that the people who are willing to go to physical events and not just play on their laptops are the same people who take the game seriously.

JakeTheFakeReal this is the issue, and this is why people obviously get pissed off at each other. If you had half of a brain you would realize that hero is a strategy that has huge potential to win any event. Statistics are all they are, variance is very much something that will always be a part of the game. Hero’s just need more things to go right than a few other decks.

The problem with heroes is you don't have an omni negate, you can playthrough handtraps but you gotta decide what do you wanna end on, nearly all your cards are situational and (imo) that makes the deck hard to play. You gotta decide if you wanna set up for acid, darklaw+dystopia, or plasma+h.neos+dystopia. In a big tourney where you dunno what you gonna face, heroes can be a bad pick. Your whole field dies to board wipes (which thankfully, no one plays) and your weaknesses are quite similar to meta (grave hits/locks, droll) which makes it an awkward non-tier1 choice. This man must have spent quite a time studying the deck, matchups and deck ratios there to decide this was the correct answer to it.

@Redyuki HEROs are topping other regionals too. Topping regionals with consistency = tier 2, topping nationals/ycs/uds with consistency = meta. HERO is just tier 2.

I've been considering that myself. I love summoning Absolute Zero and I kinda dislike getting locked into Darks for certain situations. Fusion Destiny is so fucking good, but I'm gonna test and see if Sunrise can perhaps make up for the Dystopia spot removal and maybe Foolish Burial can help relegate using Fusion Destiny to get Mali/Mist to grave. I also swear by at least one Form Change because Idgaf. I love recycling Zero/Adoration/Trinity(if its stopped) for Acid or something. Even if I don't cut Fusion Destiny, Form Change can turn Dangerous into Dark Law.

Though I still have to get the following Masked hero's to complete the deck Masked Hero Acid, Masked Hero Vapor, Masked Hero Blast, Masked Hero Goka so by then I might find a good replacement for him wile in case he gets banned again.

Yeah, no matter what place the deck placed. It's not gonna convince me to go out of my way to spend $200 or more on just two cards that are nice option cards for the deck. The Evil HERO engine really isn't needed. The deck can run just as fine without. Its mainly preference and if you have it at this point. I've tested builds that utilize it and ones that don't. If you know how to run the deck, you don't need Bane or Gold.
