Texas also has the best rb in the class, 2 potential 1st round wrs, sweat, a couple day 2-3 o lineman and the 2nd best TE in the class, so it’s hard to say who exactly the bengals were going there to see.

This is probably my least favorite mock that I’ve seen for the Bengals. We already have two 3-techs (Hill and Rankins) and we desperately need a NT like Sweat. With Trent Brown’s injury history, I’d like a 1st round RT that could fill-in if needed.

If they pass on OT in the first round, they'll have missed a draft stocked with OT's. They simply can't pass on an OT at #18.
@taylorethridge8214

If they pass on OT in the first, it means there won’t be an OT they have a first round grade on. You can’t draft a guy because of his position. You have to take players that add real value. Best player available is often time the right way to draft if a position of need is weak at your pick.

Perfect Bengals draft, I don't care what PFF says about it. JPJ at 18, Suamataia at 49, Sweat at 80, Hall Jr. at 97, Stover at 115, Josh Newton at 149, McClellen at 214, Austin McNamara (P) 224, Miyan Williams at 237, Willie Roberts at 238..and no I am not an OSU fan (went to IU Bloomington). Powers-Johnson's tape is phenomenal, have the Bengals ever had a guy like that at Center....you start him in 2024 in place of Volson and he takes over C in 2025.

I think you guys missed it here... I'm confident that the Bengals are going to draft one of the following... an OT either Latham or Mims... or a CB... most likely Wiggins or DeJean. The Bengals are lacking depth at the CB position and they have not addressed it with free agency... this leads me to believe they think they can address it with the draft. I'd love to see them go Latham or Mims... but I'm telling yah... I think its going to be CB. I've Sim'd this out A LOT... and I believe there are trade scenarios for Tee Higgins that include the Green Bay Packers and pick #25, or the Arizona Cardinals at pick #27. And if the Bengals go Nate Wiggins at pick 18... Mims is available in 75% of the sims at pick 25 and 27. Kingsley Suamataia is available 100% of the time at pick 27... and he is a solid prospect that has experience at both LT and RT. And since we addressed OT in free agency... there's no immediate NEED for him to start right away. He could spend the season learning under Brown and Brown Jr. Then at pick #49 we target Xavier Legette (WR), Jatavion Sanders (TE), or T'Vondre Sweat (DT)... whichever is available at pick #49 of the 2nd Rd. Hell... if we wanted to get fancy... we could even target Adonai Mitchell at picks 25/27... he or Keon Coleman are usually there.

I actually agree with James for once (even though is a pretty good haul tbh). But Mims is the right pick. Despite his inexperience not being ideal he's pretty advanced for it. The injury thing is way overblown. He had 1 injury in college, a high ankle sprain that required surgery. He did hurt his hammy running at the combine but he's not an injury risk based on these things. He does need some instruction on technique and hand usage but nothing no one else doesn't need. I'd also take McConkey there (I also love Pearsall) but only because I'm trading up about 10 spots in rd 3 to get my DL-MEN, grab Sweat, he goes in the mocks between 70-75. And then I'm going TE with Ben Sinnott at 97. Come back early rd 4 & grab my RB. FYI let's quit talking about Corley, he's overrated, nothing special really. If you want a slot only guy in that area Malik Washington of Virginia is the only guy I'd want of who was left.

Man, these fans are like a dog with a bone. The Bengals could pick a tackle at every pick for 5 years straight and Burrow would still end up getting hit and probably hurt. The Bengals reached a SuperBowl despite not having a good line because the rest of the team was very good. Now that the line is decent, find value wherever it’s most obviously present, rather than obsessing over depth at a single position and potentially reaching. If the tackle of the future falls into our laps, by all means, take him. If not, Chido and Reader left, so obviously there are other major holes on the roster to consider as well.

@JoeFromCincinnati

This mock draft is a perfect example of why the Bengals should not wait on OT. If one of the top 6 is there at 18, you take them. Newton or Murphy would be nice, but we don't need them. We need offensive line. If Trent Brown gets injured, which he tends to do, our back up RT is either Jackson Carman or Cody Ford. Don't play with Burrow's health. Just protect him with the best player available at 18.
@johnhitz1185

The sixth-best offensive tackle better not be the pick if the #1 interior lineman is available. J.C. Latham had many holding penalties, and Mims is too young and injured a lot. Troy Fautanu can switch to guard and still back up tackle, but if he's gone, Powers-Johnson or CB Cooper Dejean, or a defensive tackle.

Which is the most accurate? I've been trying to use others, but I think they have the best version of a "public" board right now. They're all very flawed this year imo! And there's a reason we didn't take Trey Benson in the 3rd. But who knows what's gonna happen this year!
@tomlarkin562
@tomlarkin562 2 ай бұрын
@@JakeLiscow-uv6si Hi Jake I love your show but I only see you use PFF all of the time. The truth is they are all probably flawed because the only ranking boards that are accurate are the 32 team boards. I see CBS sports use a different simulator and they are all highly paid experts that come up with different results because their board is very different. For example, I want the Bengals to be able to draft Tvondre Sweat in the second round but he is ranked in the 40s on cbs sports simulator where PFF ranks him in the 70s. So there is a wide range on that one player. Honestly the more I look at these mock drafts I think we will all be surprised by how it all turns out..keep up the good work.

If you pass on OT in the 1st your prolly deciding to pass on OT for the draft. Unless you plan on trading up. I would take the OT. Mims is who I want & then I would be hoping Newton falls to trade up for or possibly trade up for Wr & Sweat would be a option for me in the 2nd. If Benson is available in the 3rd & you haven't traded up yet trading up for him would be awsome. Quite few Rb's Benson is by far my favorite I wonder were he is at on they're board they waited & did well last yr. Wr in 2nd could be really hard to pass on especially if they don't think they can get a deal done with Tee. I like Pearsal & Polk for Wr's that have a shot to be available in 2nd.

Either Byron Murphy or Johnny Newton should be our 1st pick this year. Whichever one is available. I like Newton a little better but Murphy is my second choice. Those 2 guys are future Pro Bowl/All Pros. We can get an offensive tackle in round 2 or even round 3. He won’t have to play this year. No way In hell am I drafting Mimms or Guyton in round 1. That would be a terrible mistake. We need to get 1 of the DTs I. Round 1 and in round 2 if Murphys teamate Devindre Sweat if he is there I would take him in the second. Oh and I would be calling the Panthers about trading Tee. I would trade Tee for 2 things from the Panthers. I would trade them Tee Higgins And A 7th round pick for the 33rd pick AND WR Terrance Marshall Jr. Getting him back together with Burrow and Chase would be bad ass.
