Bus system is now a relic of its past glory . Greyhound was my mode of college transportation from S.C. to Lexington Ky in the early eighties. Many fond memories. Poorly run system now , took a nostalgic trip about 5 years ago to NYC and the service was abyssal.

I’ve passed through this terminal many times as a passenger. The last time was in 2017 from Cleveland to Lexington and back. The trip down was great, but what was supposed to be a 2 hour layover in Cincinnati on the way back to Cleveland turned into more than 6 hours because the connecting bus never showed up. Greyhound used to be a great way to travel, but after that and a couple of other bad experiences on that same trip, I swore off traveling by Greyhound for good! Then I learned just today that the Greyhound station in downtown Cleveland, which has been at the same location, and same building since the 1940’s, is shutting down. A sense of nostalgia came over me when I heard that and I happened across your video. Although your ties to Greyhound run FAR deeper than mine, I totally understand that sense of sadness and nostalgia. Now I’m thinking I might pay the Cleveland terminal a visit and record some footage before it becomes just a memory. Judging by my last experience 6 years ago, it’s just a shame how far downhill Greyhound service has gone.

@@LeeDfined I do wish I could have known at the time that my trip in 2017 would be the last time I would ever pass through the Cincinnati terminal, though. I would have tried to seize the moment a little more instead of being so frustrated by the 6+ hour layover. It seems a lot of Greyhound stations are closing down nationwide. Little by little, a piece of Americana is disappearing before our eyes, sadly. 😔

Yes. In addition to my hiring terminal of Cincinnati closing, the terminal I resigned from(Tampa) also closed. Will try to do a video there.

They just recently closed down the Louisville, Kentucky Greyhound Terminal in 2023. Louisville, Kentucky is only 1 hour and 30 minutes away from our neighborinng Cincinnati, Ohio.

Yes. I worked out of Louisville as well. During the course of my career I was based out of Cincinnati, Columbus, Syracuse, Orlando, Cleveland, Tallahassee, Louisville, Pittsburgh and Tampa (where I resigned from, which closed its doors shortly thereafter.)

@@LeeDfined I currently drive for Transit Authority Of River City (Tarc) in Louisville, Kentucky. I hope Greyhound or a company similar is still around when I'm eligible for retirement. I was looking at it as a possible job afterwards.

Greyhound used to have an old bus station at Bowling Green, KY, which is the current town that I lived, until they closed that station in April of 2020 it like 3 hours away from Bowling Green, KY to Cincinnati, OH I toke the Greyhound Bus from Bowling Green, KY to Philadelphia, PA and In July of 2023 Greyhound shutdown the Station at Philadelphia, PA at 10th @ Filbert due to the Philadelphia 76ers new Stadium happening in the future

It will be a similar company most likely. Flixbus took over and that's all I see pretty much. After 14.5 years with the Hound I switched to trucking.

All these old downtown terminals will be history. When First Group sold Greyhound in 2021 to FlixSE they kept all the real estate and then sold them to a company called Twenty Lake. While Greyhound is still in some of them on a flexible lease the handwriting is on the wall and eventually they will be out of all of them. Cleveland and Chicago will be the next two big ones to go. Sad times ahead.
