Maybe you are confusing somebody putting their items out on their lawn and wanting ebay prices, with an ebay seller coming by and taking the risk on buying and reselling. It's not for everybody. Before KZbin and even ebay existed, vintage stores and pawn store owners did this stuff. If you want premium prices for your stuff, you need to put work into finding that buyer. Not just putting your junk on the curb for people to come by and pay up. Pawn stores and auction houses all take a commission too.

Why not? All of these KZbin resellers are exposing the business so it was only a matter of time before people doing yard sales start to look up the comps. Why? Why can't they sell for whatever price they want? You have no obligations to buy. Also a lot of people that sell stuff for dirt cheap usually don't look up the value of the item they are selling or just want it gone. But to not price something and tell someone to make an offer, then get offended when they don't like my offer drives me nuts. Especially when like this guy they come out and state a price. So they clearly had some type of idea the ballpark they wanted to be in.

You always buy some eclectic stuff, but it works out for you. Fun to watch.

I also feel sick for the Luxman and Taylor album. I have been in many situations when checking price of every item is impractical. Considering that guy said that it goes for $50, there was very little reason to question it. Every time, you pull your phone to check a price, you are 30-60 seconds late for the next garage sale. Unless you know ahead of time that it is a desirable brand, you are going to miss it. My absolutely worst experience when trying to negotiate a better price, sometimes wife will call husband to get OK, only to find out that the original price should have been 10x more or they decide not to sell it.

I like how some garage sale people have backstories for most of their items

Whenever someone says, "Make me an offer," I smile and politely joke that they dont want me throwing out the first number because it's going to be loooooooow.

I really dislike when I go to garage sales and get the response "what do you offer?" and get all offended when you throw out a number. First of all it's a garage sale not an eBay store and why do you not throw a number if you already have something in mind.... Sorry had to rant because I run into these ppl all the time but great video for being super positive, my response would have been different for that guy with the helmets.

😳😩 OMG! That Red album boxed is one of the rarest TS finds!! You just missed out on a holy grail, look up the comps on that … or maybe don’t. I’m crying inside that someone had that sitting for $40.😭🫶🏽

Not sure if it’s legit but that taylor swift album just sold in may for $3200. Looks to be the same one, a For Your Consideration ACM promotional Red Album? I think it’s legit bc every other one is also listed above 3k…I get why you passed though. It happens!

Yup, you’re spot on. I didn’t even bother looking it up until now 🤦♂️ This has to be my biggest blunder of all time, oof. Got a little sick to my stomach when I saw the comps just now, not gonna lie 🤢

That old lady by the Wii was looking in the other box, as soon as she heard you say "video games" she starts grabbing stuff. Horrible.

I swear some of these women like at 11:30 want to get stuff just so you can't get it. She would have shown no interest in that box if you hadn't asked about it. People are sick in the head...

the thing that gets me is the yard sale wasn’t designed to get you rich, it’s to get rid of crap fast. if they really want to get their value out of it, that’s what eBay, marketplace and Craigslist is for.

I’ve been hearing “no” without a counter or anything a lot more than usual, and it’s only the beginning of the season. A lot of these items are ones that will just sit or be donated after the sale too… like an older Netgear router, outdated but still has value. Marked at $20, I offer $15 to be safe and it resells for around $45-$50 so I’m not too far off. “No” like I tried to steal it lol.

I’m also seeing an increase in people buying return Target and Amazon pallets and holding weekly sales asking 60% of eBay prices.

Yeah, it’s irritating. It’s like people get offended when you make an offer, ridiculous. People are softer compared to 7-10 years ago.
