So glad to have stumbled across your great channel. I, too, draw my own coloring pages, but you take it to a whole new level.

I used warm colours pretty much all around... her dress is blue. She stands out. As you said around the 30 minute mark: it’s fun to break the rules!

I love using the Gamsol for Blending out the Colors. Making a more Matte finish. I will sometimes use the pressed point type of Q-tip lightly in the Gamsol, instead of the Stump. Seems to go further than the Blending Stump to me. I so love your work and Tutorials! Learning so much. Thank you, Ruth!

If you sand the stump it lasts practically forever.

Thank you! I have trouble with my blending pencil blending my darks and lights into a medium and doing away with much of my shading and highlights. Do you have a recommendation for how to prevent that and why it isn't happening when you blend? Sometimes I do a light color, blend it, then add shadows after.

Apologies, I often miss comments on KZbin. I don't use a colorless blender pencil, I find they are too hard. I use a light pencil of the same color of a given area to burnish, a medium tone for the darker areas. Or, my preference these days is a colorless Marker, the alcohol breaks down the wax and blends nicely. Or Gamsol, or any mineral spirits. And you need enough layers for blending to work well. I'm planning a blending demo soon.
