Chants T Brown Yes that's right; Cindy Sr (Michelle Collins) tried to have Ian killed by a hitman when their marriage didn't work. Panicking, Cindy Sr took Steven and Peter to Italy. Ian tracked her down with the Mitchell brothers and re-kidnapped the boys. The above scene was Cindy confronting Ian about it. Some time later, they went to family court where Cindy was awarded custody of all 3 children. She was pregnant with Cindy Jr at the time. Afterwards, Cindy Sr was arrested when the hitman confessed to her involvement. Cindy Sr died giving birth to Mimi Keene's character in prison. Baby Cindy was taken to live in Devon with her aunt and grandmother after Cindy Sr's sister couldn't have children. Simple!

The men on Eastenders always won against women when it came to the custody or care of kids. Ian and Grant thought they were their childrens sole parent and the mother just carried the kids for them! 🙄. Eastenders were rather sexist in the 90s.
