No word of a lie.... the wedding scene at the start where Simone called Vince Vaughn 'The Worst". I've done that. In fact all three groomsmen of a friend did NOT like the bride. She was like an anchor on his life and we saw nothing but misery for him, so we literally offered to drive him away the day of the wedding. One of our trio even volunteered to go to Mexico with him for a while to avoid all the fallout... He ended up marrying this girl. He was prepped for a masters program in University, but dropped out to get work because she wanted to go to school for a Geology degree. It took her 10 years to get that Geology degree, and she never went into the field after. She has wrecked 3 of the cars he has bought over the years, gotten them evicted from multiple apartment buildings they have lived in.... we lost touch with him over the years, and I am fairly sure they aren't even together anymore.... I don't know, because he isn't online apparently, and her entire social media presence is a facebook page with a picture of a Lizard in a cage on a dirty rug with a bunch of trash in frame. So, sometimes the guys that are begging the groom not to get married... are doing it from a place of love.... and deep concern... .and fear for that person's future...

Curious how old you two are? I guess I always assumed you were at least in your thirties, in which case it’s strange to me you don’t get how much of a phenomenon this was when it came out, people made their entire personality around the archetypes of this movie, similar to Austin powers, so it’s interesting to see such a shoulder shrug of a reaction to it. I’m 40 now for reference so my memory is still mostly functioning. ;) but this was a big deal even in Australia at the time. I’m certainly just overestimating the influence of my particular coming of age media but again, I’m surprised just by you pair being what I assumed to be in a similar generation is all.

As a Canadian who watched this shortly after graduating university and when I still had several college age friends, I can say that it's impact here was much less significant, as is the case with a lot of college movies that heavily play into the frat life. College fraternities and the frat lifestyle have always been much more subdued in Canada, to the extent that fraternity houses didn't exist in that era near most colleges and universities. Yes, in my age group there was a lot of "You're my boy Blue", and "We're going streaking" being shouted when we got together, though it was never followed by actually going streaking, but that pretty much was the extent of this movie's impact in Canada... at least in the heavily populated area of Southern Ontario. Can't speak for down east or out west.

Streaking was a real thing in the 1970's. I didn't go to high school dance that didn't get streaked. For some reason it was not uncommon for professional sporting events in Calgary to be streaked. The most memorable was at the Saddledome when a, socks only, clad guy climbed over the glass onto the ice and in the process fell backwards knocking himself out. They took off one of his sock to cover his privates as he was taken off the ice. This visitor from the UK, at his 1st hockey game, was banned from the attending a Flames game for 10 years.

Okay, now that you've seen this, you definitely need to see "Starsky & Hutch" also by Todd Philips. Great Film with a similar humor and the cast is amazing: Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson (Luke Wilson's Brother btw), Vince Vaughn, Jason Bateman etc.

As an early 80s baby who was raised on the cassette tape and the VCR (it was a big deal when we got one), the 8-track and betamax are my old school.

A film I think you two will like is Drop Dead Fred(stars Phoebe Cates from Gremlins & Fast Times at Ridgemont High, and Carrie Fisher aka Princess Leia from Star Wars.

Okay, I have 2 things to say. I don't care if anybody even reads it. I might just have to put them down. One is I watch. A lot of your guys's reactions and even if it's a comedy I never ever laugh. I just watch your guys's reactions. This movie is so d*** funny. I was laughing at just the part that you guys put on youtube Second I was in a place called job corps. And the thing that's so ironic about that place is that they condemned cussing and nudity and sex and anything like that. On this campus of job corps, we won dorm of the month and they let us pick a movie, and that movie was called old school. And this movie holds a special place in my heart because. It was just such a special moment that. Will forever be awesome.

4:16 The Dan Band. One of the best laughs in this movie, for sure!
