I have to brag - I'm the guy Michelle Trachtenberg steals french fries from in the Amsterdam Bakery scene. Michelle and Scott were cool as hell and so were the directors. If you're a big fan of this movie, you need to know the story about the baker who scolds Scott and Michelle about the brownies. Two rasta guys were hired that day ("Rasta Waiter" and "Rasta Chef") but neither of them were actors - and the one who had all the lines was too shy and didn't want to do it - so they switched parts - and the guy you see (Go Go Jean Michel Francis) was amazing and went on to act in other movies. Also, Matt Damon was never intended to appear in Eurotrip but at the time of filming, "The Brothers Grimm" was shooting in the same city (Prague, Czechia) and he unexpectedly offered to do the cameo! And yes, Europe is exactly like Eurotrip. Europeans are so cool - you should definitely go!

I think the scene was filmed actually in a poor housing project in Bucharest, wasn´t it? The movie is totally ridiculous, that's why it's great. If someone believes exchange rates work like that... the price of lets say, one liter of milk, is about the same in any country. Probably even more expensive in a country with high inflation. One nickel can be worth 1 million of the local currency, it won´t mean you will be able to buy what 1 million dollars can buy, just means that 1 million of the local currency are worth nothing.

This was the first movie Michelle Trachtenberg did once _Buffy the Vampire Slayer_ was over, so I think the idea was to get away from the character (without ruining her career, like some actors unintentionally do after playing a famous and/or long-standing part), so she was in a raunchy-com, but considered the "good girl" of the group. And I agree that a lot of raunchy-coms are being cruel for the sake of bad jokes. The jokes in this movie were funny because they weren't cruel. I think that's why this movie's been gaining in popularity over time while most other raunchy-coms are dying or dead.

Of course it's not. It's a movie. LOL

It's worse. In the early 2000s, it was like this. Now it's like Prague but way more expensive. It's very good looking city, but then which one in Europe isn't?

I'm an American who had a Slovakian girlfriend. Agreed, Bratislava is a nice city.

To answer George's question - this movie was a phenomenon in Romania back in the day. I'd say more teens back then (as I was) preferred this over American Pie for example. It was humor poking fun at countries we poked fun at. An all time classic, should've spawned a franchise for other continents.

Don't worry. I didn't realize that the Dutch dominatrix was Xena, either.

I had a major crush on Michelle Trachtenberg as a teen after watching Ice Princess.

A lot of channels have been doing Eurotrip recently. Thanks goes to whatever combination of YT algorithm, Patreon polls, and comment section spammers got so many reactors to watch this. It was fun revisiting this. And now Scotty Doesn’t Know is going to be stuck in my head for at least a month

Fun fact: Almost the whole movie was filmed in Prague. The "American" high school, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, it's all just Prague. Even the Slovakia scene was filmed in some abandoned barracks in Czechia (but of course we're not gonna depict our country as an Eastern European stereotype so we just made fun of the Slovaks lol). The movie even has some Czech actors, fir example the guy who will open his own hotel is pretty famous here. Because of this, the movie was extremely well known and popular here. I first saw it right when it came out when I was 10 yo (definitely not apporiate 😅) and countless times since. For me, it's one of the few movies of this genre that still holds up after the years.

Probably one of my favourite raunchy road trip movies. Glad I'm seeing it more often in reaction channels.

Absolutely fell in love with this movie after 20 years 😂 In the theaters was such a blast, smiling throughout the whole thing. The entire cast was made for them. Bullet tooth Tony and Boris the Bullet Dodger from Snatch made it even better 👌

My favorite fact about this movie (which may or may not still be true) is that Jacob Pitts (who plays Cooper) lives in Bratislava and is married to a Slovakian woman.

The first time I saw this I could not catch my breath during the Heinreich scene in the apartment. There are just so many great jokes in this movie and Vinney Jones is a hilarious in every scene.

One thing I noticed about myself is that while I do not mind raunchy or explicit content I never liked vulgarity just for the sake of it. This movie never really crosses that line, sometimes just a hint of something is enough to make the joke work. It's hilarious!!

First time I saw this, during the "Mi scuzi" train ride, I literally fell of my chair laughing. This is one of the few go to comedies that will always bring a a smile to my face.

Lucy Lawless (Xena, Warrior Princess) as the Dutch Dominatrix. There's something I haven't imagined before. Well, not too much.

While I mostly agree with Simone about viewing Michelle Trachtenberg in that role.....that silver top she was wearing....very nice. Move movies need outtakes during the credits.

Michelle Trachtenberg was also in, among many other things, a little underseen movie called "Take Me Home Tonight" where she played a goth in 80s LA. It was a small role though.

I always mentioned going to Bratislava as a joke with my mates because of this film. For 20 years. Last month i finally went with my mates. Stayed in a hostel and they played 'Scotty Doesnt Know' in the nightclub. Hearing that come on fulfilled 12 year old me's dreams!

I’ve only seen this movie once when I was ~16 - borrowed the DVD from a friend and watched it in the small window after school, before my step dad woke up (3rd shift) and my mom got home. I remember sitting *so close* to the TV to keep it as quiet as possible so I could hear my step dad if he got up. I remember thinking it was absolutely hilarious even though I used to take myself waaaay too seriously. So many scenes from this movie were lodged in my memory, like the robot mime I remember vividly. So good, and so glad you both enjoyed it. You’re both raunchy in different ways and it’s always a joy watching comedies with you two.
