Hey, love the video and the effect. I tired following the steps and everything seemed to be working fine, the first transition worked a treat, but I can't get the glowing line... I triple checked the settings, everything is how it's supposed to be - matte on the upper graphic assigned to duplicated clip above it, added stroke of 20 (even 100) but no color comes out. If I select matte as none for the upper graphic, the whole outline of the shape appears, but when I assign video 6, it's just gone as if the glowing line step was never there. I did place everything on the identical video tracks as you did, so there really wasn't room for any error. Maybe you could give me some sort of advice? I'm completely lost at this point...

Depends on your budget and purpose. Blender is a free 3d software good for starters and learning vfx. After effects is a software to make effects but not really vfx/3d etc. Cinema 4d is a very professional 3d software which you can do a lot with! For all of these are a lot of explaination video's and tutorials. Go check those out and see which one fits you best :)

Yes you can rotoscope your subject manually. It's just take longer. It's important that your subjet is isolated from the background as you only want it to be mask by your track matt key. If you don't isolate the subjet, the background will be affected by the shape used as track matt too.
