Generally Panavision lenses are a tat warm, have a smooth focus falloff they have good contrast without being bitingly contrasty and their spherical glass is sharp which really works well with the other features because they don’t look clinical but also not super vintagey.

why is there always or most of the time a strip of masking tape on a old panavision 65mm camera, when you see the behind the scenes making of a movie, what information is on that masking strip or is it just a strip of masking tape for another reason thanks
