Hey I am new to fpv, I have built the same drone. I just wanted to ask ghat how were you flying in the rain? How can we make it waterproof?
@smithe6828 күн бұрын
Hello, I did nothing to this for flying in bad weather. It’s pretty well protected from light snow and rain thanks to its design. I do believe most people use conformal coating on their flight controller for extra protection but I’ve never bothered or had an issue myself.

Thanks Chris! Yeah this thing is super solid and flies so well, even when it’s flown like something it’s not lol! Oh man it was a nail biter, it’s why I got down near the road instead of flying along the hill and back across the middle of the field, which is my normal route, I wouldn’t have made it back 😅

Thank you, for the review. Would you say this drone is good for windy conditions, 10-15 mph wind?
@smithe6810 ай бұрын
Thank you for saying. It handles wind quite well, it has a lot of power being 6S. I think with a GoPro it might work harder though for what it’s worth.
@YonnBurgos10 ай бұрын
@@smithe68 Thank you for the response and the follow! Which video transmitter are you using? I was planning to add a DJI O3 Air unit system, but I came across a review that using the O3 Unit, won't allow you to use the SD Card. The design frame is not friendly when using it with the DJI O3. I have the DJI Goggles and the DJI RC control. Alternatively, if you have another recommendation for an FPV that can handle wind conditions, that would be great. Thank you again!
@smithe6810 ай бұрын
@@YonnBurgos I have the O3 in mine. You can get to the SD card slot, it’s not easy, but it’s doable and a pair of tweezers helps a lot. Honestly though, I never really take it out, I just plug a USB C cable in the O3 and transfer the video files off. Are your goggles and RC controller the original ones or one of the newer ones? What kind of flying do you want to do with it, because that will help a lot.
@YonnBurgos10 ай бұрын
@@smithe68 Good point about connecting the USB C cable and getting the footage that way. Sounds like a similar situation with the DJI Avata where you have very little room to use the SD card to remove it with tweezers and connect the cable. In regards to the use, I would like to use it for getting Cinematic shots and indoor jobs. I currently have the DJI Integra and DJI RC 2 controller.
@smithe6810 ай бұрын
@@YonnBurgos good comparison on difficulty getting to the sd card. It would be fine for that although it’s fairly large and loud, most cinewhoops are though. If you go with the O3 version you can use your current goggles and the RC 2 as long as it’s the FPV RC 2. In fact it’s what I am currently using with my Cinelog 35.

@@smithe68 I’m on the fence about what controller to use. I have the Dji controller 2 already and I like the simplicity. But I heard about the signal loss issue which bothers me. Then I see you flying a much longer distance than I would fly.
@smithe688 ай бұрын
@@sethu.uumez-eronini7339 it’s a great controller with easy setup and if you aren’t flying really far it is fine. I actually like the way it feels in my hands. For what it’s wrorth, I have it because of the DJI FPV drone and I have flown that 4 miles away with the controller.

Why with mine I can't go more than 200 meters? Is there some settings to change? I have cinelog35 V2 with o3 and original antenna.
@smithe6811 ай бұрын
Is that video or your controller that is giving you range issues? If it’s your FPV to your goggles it could be that your goggles are CE and not FCC.
@andreacolletto984311 ай бұрын
Yeah, I think is the googles. But isn’t it low as well, even though is in CE?
@smithe6811 ай бұрын
@@andreacolletto9843 that would be quite low even for CE, I believe it’s 2km for CE. Are you on goggles 2 or v2?
