One of your lead developers left halfway and you guys went from the best all around package in the business to an incomplete package with a slow rendering engine and broken material editor. I'm moving on past Cinema when upgrade time comes around.

What did you consider moving to and did you see they built in Substance in the new C4D?

Reflectance is great, but we really should have an option for energy conservation.

how the hell do you get your roughness to look good. Whenever I use it it just comes out super grainy!

I have the same problem :(

But what kind of lighting system did he use to make sure his renders actually come out the correct way?

I've got to use C4D for a project but am a 20+ year LightWave veteran. I'm trying to get whats known as a 'Local Reflection Map' in other software. Its for windows on a building, we want them reflecting sky and fields but not ray tracing - any ideas?

Cool but the tutorial didn't help me . Make one where you show the procedure step by step ;)

How Can I Use that Option "View" ?

I guess a lot of people are struggling with the concept of physically based rendering. You're probably better off learning about roughness/metallic PBR and then diving into this.

This is all very powerful, but the fact that you can only adjust the parameters on one material at a time makes any version of C4D past r15 unusable for me.

Couldn't agree more, it's a terrible addition. It's a shame though because there are so many new plugins; I have to switch between R15 and R17 just to use them -__-

Not a tutorial... you show where certain things are but not why or how to use them...
@swrcPATCH8 жыл бұрын
+Wayne Hedd this wasn't even their goal. They just waned to show new features and how they are working. This is not a tutorial "HOW TO MAKE A REALISTIC CAR MATERIAL/TEXTURE". But Anyways, the reflectance was good explained to me and I already tried it out - working perfectly for me. Maybe you just need to listen more, idk.
