Hi EJ, how would I connect a shock between two limbs that have Ik. So example would be lets say I'm bending my arm towards me and one end of the shock is connected to the fore arm and the other end to the upper arm. So I need the shock to contract when I bend my arm and when I straighten the arm I need it to expand. Hope this make sense lol. I can send you an example if you are keen to help. Hi CJ! When I add the Up Vector constraint to my hinge, my hinge and top plateau flip 45 degrees. I feel like they think a different axis is 'up', but how do I change this? Thanks so much for this brilliant tutorial!!

Ok I managed to change the axis but the constraint tag just simply won't work? What am I doing wrong do you think? :)

hello, is it possible to import a rigged character in cinema 4d and animate it? when i rig and export as obj, i fail to animate the rig when i import back in cinema 4d
@eyedesyn5 жыл бұрын
OBJ doesn't support rigs, I believe FBX does, so export out an FBX and your joints should come through! at least it works exporting rigs from Mixamo

idk if anyone else had the same problem I do when I create ik chains see for some reason when I apply the ik chains it doesn't let me rotate the bone so what I did was increase the FK and Ik option but now when I lower it up to zero again it doesn't move the same way it did when I first created the IK chain

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR SHARING THIS VIDEO ON KZbin!! I just tried the identical process but it seems to not work when i gave it the constraint tag and I just want to ask if it’s necessary to reset the position of the object before doing it.

It's helpful for the workflow in case you need to get back to the original position.

Thank you. But I could not understand a point. Constraint Tag / Up Vector which object was assigned.
@eyedesyn8 жыл бұрын
Up Vector is the direction that an object will point, so by default the Up Vector was +Y which means the object will always face upwards in the Positive Y direction. So nothing else was needed to do.
@downbytheharbour7 жыл бұрын
Hi! When I added the constraint tag/up vector it didnt do what it was supposed to do, nothing changed actually. I thought i was following properly all along, what could be the reason for this? thanks, great videos!

Hi EJ , i follow step by steps and when i apply Constaint tag and turn on "UP" my my Hinge 3 hand automatically rotate to another axis, i choose different axis in UP-Vector settings, but nothing happes. Thanks a lot for your videos !
@eyedesyn7 жыл бұрын
You need to make sure all of your axis are the same. So I chose Y Axis because thats the way my 3rd hinge's axis was pointing to. So if you look at your Axis and the arrow pointing up is X, or Z, you'll need to choose that axis for the Up Vector. Hope that makes sense! :)

Thank you so much for this tutorial. It was super helpful. I do have a problem with the constraint tag, though. When I checkmark the 'Up" direction, it rotates my object to face up. I've been searching, but I have no idea how to fix this. If anyone knows I would appreciate the help :)

Thanks for the tut! Could you go more in depth in the constraint tag? It looks really cool! By the way, Eye design , I was thinking for awhile to buy Cinema 4D , I have used it in school and it is something I have used for 3 years. I might get to Maya later on during my university. Would it be a waste to buy Cinema 4D if I am going to learn Maya ?
