What makes him SO special is simply, that his music is art on itself; it does not depend on the movie or work only in the movie. His soundtracks are like symphonies in their own. I had the great opportunity and honour to attend the first concert in Vienna in January 2020 in the famous Golden Hall. Just being in the same room with my life-long hero was special and unforgettable by itself.

His music isn’t just music, it tells the story without dialogue, and you *feel* the moments in those scenes.

We can never do this man justice by trying to explain or show how unparalleled his work is. He is undoubtedly, the greatest film score composer of all time and it’s not even close.

We are very fortunate to be alive during John Williams years. I don’t see how he can ever be replaced. You can always listen to John’s music and know its his masterful work. Good work here and very well done.

@DeltaElleve22 I'd say Hans Zimmer is surely up there, Ludwig is still an amateur compared to Hans and John, but John Williams man. Understand he's the definition of a film composer

It's great, as usual Ashton and thanks a lot. I'm 48 years hold (belgian guy) and all my life was blessed by his music and, of course, he's not the only one but one of the greatest.

When Steven Spielberg asked John Williams to score "Schindler's List", Williams was worried it was beyond his talent and experience to give a movie of such weight the justice it required. He said to Spielberg, "You need a better composer than me." To which Spielberg replied, "I know, but they're all dead!"

I can't tell you how much John Williams is responsible for my life my career everything he is the movie that he conducts. When you play his music you don't have to watch the movie his music puts the images in your head.

I love this, well done Ashton! I just watched Memoirs of a Geisha, a long time coming, and was not surprised by how beautifully he captured the essence of Japanese music, but also the emotion and storytelling he is already so well at doing.
