Frank Welker is still alive, and still voicing Fred in every animated appearance of his EXCEPT for this movie for some reason, despite him voicing Scooby in this one as he's done for years now. Shaggy's original voice actor, Casey Kasem, died several years ago, but most of Shaggy's animated appearances since Casey had to stop performing have been done by actors way more accurate than whoever did Shaggy in this one. Shaggy has always been my favorite of the crew, so I especially hate how bad he sounds in this movie.

I will agree that the role Cerberus had didn’t make much sense, but the gang have dealt with supernatural forces that were confirmed as supernatural, especially in the animated direct-to-video movies, and the finale of Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated. In terms of the movies, the final part of Scooby-Doo and The Samurai Sword saw the Black Samurai return and essentially become real as well as eject the person who was previously disguised as him, there was Scooby-Doo and the Witch’s Ghost, where the final part of the movie saw the ghost of Sarah Ravencroft being a real thing, and, most famously, there was Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island.

Omg I can’t believe I’m going to write a comment to defend a movie like this buuuuuut It’s not uncommon for companies to buy office space that don’t rely on much footfall traffic in luxurious places to give the illusion of success. I currently work in Japan and my old companies headquarters were in Ginza, Tokyo. That shit was EXPENSIVE but it gave the impression of success whenever they bid on contracts. I mean, are you going to go with some tiny company from Akaiwa or someone who has enough success to be able to afford headquarters in central Tokyo? Those kinda things do factor into business deals worth millions. So Mystery Inc. having a beachfront property is totally not a sin and actually a sound business strategy for trying to gain respect among potential customers with deeper pockets. I’m fun at parties.

And many other things. 6:12 - this reminds me of a bowling alley I went to when I was young and how the menu there had several kinds of pizza, and which also had both mushroom and veggie like shown here. I'm not sure what's on the veggie here and how many more toppings there are than the mushroom, but the veggie I remember had mushrooms, onions, and green peppers. I remember wondering why there weren't olives too since that's usually the 4th topping on veggie pizza

Doctor Odin To be fair, they've been doing that same formula since Where Are You. (They even took it a step further and created dozens of unsuccessful shows based on Scooby Doo.) Every (main) incarnation is the same thing. Mystery becomes apparent, Gang goes down to solve it, they find out the culprit, they trap the monster, explain why it happened, and ending. Even Mystery Incorporated is the same, the difference there is that there's conflict and an underlying story.

The 13th ghost movie connecting it to Mysteries Inc. and make it non-supernatural was a misstep along with zombie Island two. The thing with the movies that started what’s new Scooby Doo is the fact that it was an extreme rarity that they came across actual supernatural events and it showed them after high school is why people liked it. My biggest sin is that this isn't even a Scooby-Doo story. I get the feeling WB originally made a superhero film and were afraid that it wouldn't appeal or be marketable enough, so they slapped Mystery Inc on there. If you remove all the scenes with Mystery Inc and made blue falcon and his sidekicks the central characters, the film is basically the same. Another thing that annoys me is that they didn't understand the heart of Scooby-Doo or what made the original cartoon so fun and special. There's literally no excuse when 2 live action films from 18 years ago understood this.

This, honestly, feels like the kind of film Hanna-Barbera would’ve made if they were still around today. Think about it, paper-thin plots, cheap looking animation, weird character designs, constant attempts to chase popular trends, and cameos from celebrities that haven’t been relevant for, at least, a decade. These are all tropes associated with Hanna-Barbera, which makes this film a pretty faithful adaptation. I could’ve done without all the Warner Bros. references, though (and I’m kinda surprised you didn’t give the use of the AT&T jingle on the Falcon Fury a sin).
