I agree. And here what I think the controls should be (for Circle Pad Pro and New 3DS). D-Pad/Left Circle Pad - Left D-Pad Right Circle Pad (C-Stick) - Right D-Pad And then every other button corresponds each other. As for the original 3DS. Circle Pad - Left D-Pad D-Pad (or maybe ABXY) - Right D-Pad Or probably an option to switch the Right D-Pad between D-Pad and AB with something on touchscreen.

Devon Glow That's because Jack Frost is Atlus' mascot and Pyro Jack is almost as common. You will find them in a lot of Atlus games either as characters or as some sort of easter egg in the background. Though what is even more interesting is that Atlus has actually made a lot of non-rpgs, including some licensed games (they actually developed Friday the 13th on the NES if you can believe it).

For the record, I've heard pretty good things about Jack Bros. The plot, since Nerd couldn't read it (neither can I, but I'm an SMT fan so this information's not hard to come by), is that Beelzebub opened up a portal from Hell, and the Jack brothers came to Earth, but the portal only lasts so long, so they have to get back to Hell before the portal closes. He's really hung up on the "virtual reality" thing, but really, that doesn't impact the games themselves, and as he said, some of them are pretty decent. It's not Jack Bros. fault, or Wario Land's, or any of the others' fault that Virtual Boy wasn't a good system. A shame we lost out on them because of that.

To me (I actually tried a VR Demo set at a Game Stop in the last month; it was pretty cool, actually), it may not be the same as a whole-body experience and to be honest, that is likely a LONG, LONG way off (to get it to the point where it tricks your mind so completely you think you're in the virtual reality, especially, like how Matrix did even when they knew they were in a virtual reality). Right now, Virtual Reality is at where it can be with the current technology. What makes it 'virtual reality' at the moment is that you're looking around the place with your own two eyes (technically) with the goggles on your head. You turn your head, you see what's in that direction. Even now, it's semi-convincing. Unlike your screen, things are RIGHT THERE in front of you, like an attacking shark's jaws being right in front of you. I watched someone playing the Vive and the Oculus and they said it's hard to explain how it feels until you do it yourself; and I truly agree with that. I kind of understood how they'd feel, but nothing beat actually trying the games out. There was a tank game that was kinda fun, but I was more impressed at looking around the cockpit I was in and reading consoles and seeing details in it that I might not see in a normal game. All in all, VR may still be a gimmick until we got those full-body pods that transfer our consciousness into a virtual avatar... but it's at a good place for where it's at right now.

Which one of those would you say has the best game library and experience? I haven't been in the loop for the 3D stuff since around 2013. All of the games look sort of like Tech demos of other games. I don't feel as though I'm really missing out on any sort of extremely unique gameplay experience.

@@jh6025 My personal opinion is to get a samsung odyssey, the good thing about the windows mixed reality line of headsets is you don't need to set up the extra cameras which you may or may not have the space to install. WMR headsets can also play any vr game on steam or on the windows store, Steam has the biggest library of vr games for you too choose from. There are tonnes of games that provide a variety of content to play through. My personal recommendations would be, hot dogs, horseshoes and hand-grenades, Blade and sorcery, Vox Machinae and Tiny Town vr.

Mario Kart Arcade GP VR is probably the closest to having a virtual reality game from Nintendo. It's only coming out in Japan for now but I see people are getting pretty hyped about it. People still care about Virtual Reality, but only when they know they are really gonna get something great out of it. I have heard that it was due to cost issue. Something about a full RGB screen would increase the cost so much that it wouldn't make sense from a consumer point of view

the funny thing about the virtual boy was that is was a (supposedly) VR console that was totally underpowered for 3D graphics (hence the wireframe on red alarm). VR is kinda hard to do in 2d :)

Maybe it's my impression but I thought James went easier on the AVGN commentary here than in other videos. I'm not the only one who enjoyed this console, in small increments it was pretty cool. Well for a gaming aficionado in 2004-2007 it was anyway, these hadn't been really noticed by collectors quite like they are now. Sure there were collectors for them then and I was one of them (though I collected most anything in gaming) but eBay prices were much lower in 2005.

Well, it’s 2018, and there’s still no killer app for a VR headset. Doom made people upgrade to Pentium machines (although you could run it on a 486). Quake made people get 3D video cards. Halo made people get Xboxes, and Halo 2 kickstarted online multiplayer on consoles (including the Counter-Strike port). People got PS2’s for DVD and PS3s for Blu-Ray. Crysis was nearly unplayable without current (at the time) mid-range hardware. What do all of these have in common? They offered unique experiences that made it worth getting the hardware to run it. VR has VRChat that you can run without a VR headset (although the experience is certainly better). So far, commercial use is limited to businesses, to hospitals, things of that nature. Individual consumers have no real reason to buy a VR headset. “You can be transported into the football game! You can be there!” Or I can buy tickets for cheaper, or just watch the game on TV. It offers me everything I want to look at already. VR can be used for so much more than just social hubs. It’s sad. I like the technology, but there’s no reason to buy it.

I actually had a bit of fun playing with the VB. My best friend lived across the street from me and he owned one. So it was kind of a novelty and fun. It didn't last long, but there was at least some fun involved.
