To me one of the coolest things about the nerd is that I literally aged with him. I've been following him since 2004, and through a lot of rough moments in my life I knew I could just watch a nerd episode and that would just make me forget about everything. Idk why, but seeing the nerd being frustrated and giving games the finger is almost what you wish you could do to life itself. Watching his game collection and video quality grow, as well as his ambitions towards the whole thing (movie) is so great. You're awesome James. To this day I think Penn and Teller are the only living example of psychic people due to this single game. It's a parody of driving simulators that was made before driving simulators were ever released, then sealed away, only to be opened after the advent of games like Gran Turismo, so that upon its actual release into the public it makes perfect sense. It's like an elaborate way of sealing a letter saying "Gran Turismo will exist and we will have already made fun of it" and sending it to a P.O. box to be opened long after Gran Turismo came into existence. In my warped opinion, Desert Bus is the greatest trick they ever pulled. They made the laws of time and space their bitches just to poke fun at Gran Turismo. Who does that? Fuckin' Penn and Teller, trickster gods living amongst mere mortals solely to entertain them at their own collective expense, that's who.

I've enjoyed all the AVGN episodes so much over the years, that a selfish part of me wishes the Nerd were still in his angry 20s, shooting one passionate episode after another. I just haven't gotten that same vibe from 30+ year old James and recent episodes felt a bit staged & scripted to me. Perhaps it is indeed time to move on to something different. Personally I believe the AVGN movie should be the last episode. I mean as sad as it may be I think he deserves it. Like most people know he LOVES to make movies and after the AVGN movie he will have enough money to make another and I'm sure he has plans for horror movies or whatever, this is his passion and I think 120 episodes (including movie) is enough to satisfy anybody. This should be our gift to him for what he's done. I don't mind if he never makes another AVGN episode or at least like 5 after every movie would be nice but I think it's time to let him do what he wants to do. He can't take care of a child, make movies, and do a web series forever. Life is short and he should do what makes him happy and that's making movies. This is all my opinion but I hope after the movie people will be satisfied enough with AVGN to let it go and let him live his dream, it's not like he's going anywhere because I'll watch every movie he makes after this one.

These videos are crazy popular & that brings in good income as a partner. Besides, the AVGN stuff is also a house-bound job & with him playing alot of video games for footage, he could potentially use that as an excuse to spend time with his kid. It is curious where James' career is heading towards, but no matter what he decides to do, I'll be there to support it as long as he has the passion for what he does.
