This worked out so well for my project. I has Illustrator layers that I animated manually (lots of lines) but the 3d aspect took so little time. My only change was that when I zoomed in on small parts of the animation, I has to change the script to increment the z position by "1" instead of "3" to avoid seeing the spacing.

No problem! If I remember correctly, I precomposed the logo. So you can swap in your logo within that composition. Might need to apply the fill effect again.

Hi there! Working through your template and I am SO close! Hoping maybe you could lend a hand. When I go to pre-compose at 6:04, nothing pops up in my project panel. I want the camera to stop moving after 8 seconds and just let the design stay so that I can animate over top of this, but I can't figure out how to get it to rest long enough to do that. Great BUT... When the camera moves closer to the object, detail level is quite low and it has that "slices look". I even tried to duplicate the pre-composed logo layer more than the indicated times, but still the same. Full disclosure, I am new to the AE world, but it seems that the same issue is visible in the sample created in the tutorial. Not sure this can be used in a professional production. Unless I am missing something of course.

I've run into this too. I found that using generate stroke, instead of Vegas, for the animation works just as well.

Offtop: why you guys using rgb channels with different layers to add "chromatic aberrations" effect. Can i use one adjustment layer with one of the distortion effects and 3d glasses (with the same layer in options)? It's wrong? :)

I think you can achieve a better version of this with the 3D extrusion via C4D renderer nowadays. Might look better if you up the render detail prolly.

Yes, I always feel iffy about doing 3D stuff in AE, because you can usually get better results in real 3D software.

Have some faith, Adobe seems to be trying to move us to using assortments of apps, so you extrude in AI then send to Substance then send to AE. But I hear you, you'd have more options with a 3D dedicated app... Also more buttons tho :D

After effects must give us Camera Crane or Camera Morph like in Cinema 4d you place different Cameras with different angles and then there is Master camera which link to those camera and then that master camera follows those camera angles n create smooth movement.
