I own another Minolta, which can do that trick, the 360si Alpha. A simple SLR, but it takes really good pictures. Only drawback, you can’t set the ISO on it too. Got mine for about $30 USD in Japan.

Really like the tree scene at 5:24! Another option with a switchable pano mask that I use quite often is the Ricoh R1.

I recently developed the itch for panoramic as well and bought myself the HOLGA 120 pano. I know it's not the cheap way to go film-wise, but it will be great for one of those self-assigned project photo shoots. Nice photos!

A while ago, I purchased a like-new Nikon F60 from Japan, as it has a panorama mask, and aside from that is just like the N60 sold in the US. With a 28mm or wider, makes great cropped pano images. Also, one of the later inexpensive Pentax SLRs - the ZX-5, has a pano mask, too.

Nice! I used a 28-70 zoom lens for most of these photos and I really liked the wider end of that spectrum.

Wooohooo!!! Great job explaining all of the panoramic types/options for film -- yeah, I'd love a medium-format, true panoramic camera, but I also need to pay my mortgage!!!! For now the Maxxum 450si (and similar when you can find them) are great fun and get quality shots! And as Molly-Kate showed, vertical shots in panoramic-mode look pretty cool too!

Thought provoking! Another point to mention is a lot of digital cameras offer 16:9 ratio photos 📸 With a little tweaking in photoshop or similar, you could emulate some filmic characteristics. Cheating I know....😳😁

Funny thing is that Minolta cameras with panoramic functions where sold primarily in the USA. All other models where available here in Europe, being called Dynax instead of Maxxum, but with the same model number. Anyway, I think I'll get one. ;) Btw: I love the Sprocket Rocket. Yes, you need the right type of film and a liking for its visual look, but using it is fun experience and the results can be really stunning.

Just picked up a 450 (cheap! with an awful power zoom lens, but with some expired film and a bag) and default ISO w/o DX film coding is 100. But don't forget, you can use the +_/- EV compensation button to adjust your exposure. Say 50D in a bulk non-DX cassette= +1 or 250D= -1.5 Use Vision3 reloads for the total cinematic experience.

Coincidently, I was just rinsing a roll of double X that I shot this morning of some “panoramic”, moody seascapes. I was just going to crop them to a panoramic aspect ratio later after I scan them.

Great shots Dave. Couldn’t help but also think that the occasional Pano day shoot is another tip that you mention sometimes to get us out of a rut. That different aspect ratio and the related composition considerations seems like it could shake things up.

Dude I hate the c-word lol. You ever just try to make a pano mask? Then you could just use whatever camera you like lol. I love the way the viewfinder crops on yours though. My Fuji Discovery just has dotted lines, which I don't think are super accurate lol also 4:13 is cinematic af
