Both the DPRK (the Democratic People's Republic of Korea/North Korea) and the RoK (Republic of Korea/South Korea) are confirmed to be in an active war, the DMZ (Demilitariezed Zone) would collapse, to make sure it wouldn't happen, South Korea allied military support by the USA and other UN members, North Korea is backed by Russia (used to be the USSR) and the People's Republic of China, South Korea, by some of the UN members including the United States

That's some real impressive sheets of steel. Handling and forming those require the right equipment, and the right know how. Some looked to be over several inches thick. Rolling and forming requires very specialized machinery. Heating them to soften before stamping makes a lot of sense. Welding all the sheets together is another amazing process. Even with automated welding equipment, building up 2-3 inches of weld to join those huge steel sheets together requires more time than most people could imagine. Every weld inspected by special scanners. Everything has to be perfect, those subs are going down deep, water pressure at depth is immense.

@@machinatuscom you are welcome, very interesting post. Ship building has always amazed me. Underwater ships even more so. If there is a leak in a weld on a cruise ship, it's annoying, and will be fixed when back at port. A leak in the pressure hull of submarine is a life or death situation. I had a friend who joined Navy. He was on Trident Subs 6 months a year. That put a face and name on submarines, made it personal.

Dude South Korea built SLBM ballistic missile firing Submarine and tested SLBM launch This year and I believe that S Korea will complete 5th generation fighter, kf21 within 5 years. South Korea had many sanctions for developing missiles and nuclear related weapons from U.S because of President Park's trial for developing nuclear bomb during 70's So Even if S. the wartsila factory is in Drunen The Netherlands , i've been there often to deliver industrial gasses and steel , that place started out as Koninklijke Lips , a ships propeller manufacturer that was known to produce the biggest propellers known in shipping , i've also been there a few times when it was still Lips , sadly they got into financial difficulties and got bought by wartsila , a good thing too because as said they were known to make the biggest props around , an industry saved .

@@pops7249 The submarine was built in West Germany in 1977, went through an experimental voyage, and commissioned in 1978. If the sunken Indonesian submarine was normal, she had to undergo overhaul maintenance again in 2018 to be able to operate. But for whatever reason, the Indonesian Navy did not go through overhaul maintenance procedures. Therefore, the sinking of an Indonesian submarine was an accident that could be predicted in advance.

[09/13/22] Submarine building capabilities used to be considered a "black art", but the internet age has brought it out from behind the shadows, and revealed some of the processes and techniques used to build these monsters of the deep. Sweden's Kockums builds some of the quietest AIP boats in the world. So quiet in fact that in 2005 a Swedish boat stealthily entered the aircraft carrier's security perimeter, and "sank" the USS Ronald Reagan during wargames in the Pacific. Lessons were learned. The forming and welding of the hulls is really fascinating. I wonder what the tolerances are on these massive components (could they even approach ±.001 inch or ±0.01mm?) What a shame to place such traditionally noisy screws (propellers) on some of these boats. Modern sonar can identify boats by name bc of their unique acoustic signatures. Thanks for posting these videos.

Oh you know that over 90% of the value of a modern submarine is in the software. They just showed the old fashion metal foundry bits. No big secret. No one could replicate this extremely elaborate piece of machinery from watching the shell being put together. They would though be intimidated as they can see they could never achieve such technological achievements

10:52 *awesome propeller!!* People really don't understand how integral, precise, and symmetrical these must be for no vibrations... Vibrations from unbalanced propellers, or the wrong geometry in prop design have actually caused submarines to sink before. Their design is crucial. ☀️😎🇺🇸☀️

The USA needs to build about three more submarine manufacturing locations and start producing three to five a year. This weapon is probably the only survivable aspect of the nuclear triad.

It should be noted that, the exact propeller shape on submarines are a closely guarded secret. (Notice how it is covered when you see the Korean submarine launched into the water.) And that the propellers shown in this video while impressive, are likely not from a submarine.

Extremely tight tolerances. The roll outs in the shafts are nearly 100% perfect. The less wobble, the less harmonic distortion at higher revolutions. Therefore less noise and cavitation in the water. True ‘Wrights’ and ‘Craftsmen’
