Yes, he sees the stairs as his "play zone"! Cats are sensitive creatures that can sometimes over stimulate, which is why he nips you on the stairs, as he sees it as his play zone! A cat toy that is a "wand style " (feather on a rope for example) would be a perfect way to help him play, and you to not get scratched/bit. Will bond you even more too! You are an EXCELLENT cat guy, btw!!🧡

The fact that he has a clipped ear means he was most likely feral and captured to be neutered. Regardless he has a home now and a loving human. It would be nice if he could stay inside all the time but at this point he would probably not like it at all. Good job, Lex!!

So fascinating, we had a feral cat that did the exact same thing when she was on the stairs. She became very excited and aggressive, and would swat at us if we got near. We referred to it as "Stair Wars".

I think when he bites you and swipes at you with claws out while meowing, I think that's his way of saying "stop petting me" Granted every cat is different. Plus his tail going crazy like that means he's really excited and frisky, not frisky in a sex way, frisky in a play way. Cats are much more likely to bite and scratch when their tails are going like that.

debs99772 yeah I think he might get over stimulated on the stairs which is why he might scratch And bite,the wagging of the tail can also mean agitation but can also mean playfulness my cat sometimes nip me if I keep petting her belly for a long time,most cats don’t like having there bellies petted but she seems to have a high tolerance for it and so does Cinnabon

Just a guess, but, considering there is a pet door right there... It's possible the previous owners had a kitty (or a pupper, maybe) and that kitty lived downstairs, perhaps confined at night? I could see where that kitty would wait in the morning for someone to come and open the pet door. That animal's scent would be all over those steps. Also possible that the steps are loaded with catnip. Anyway, when Cinnabon comes in contact with whatever it is, he is instantly overstimulated, which is why he goes cuckoo buns. Haha!

They definitely had a cat, I checked with them and they denied it, and they said Cinnabon was not theirs either which I believe as he wasn't around when I first moved in but I did find a few cat toys that were lost under utility stuff in the basement. Plus that door is sized for a cat or a small dog.

I really enjoy your videos with gorgeous Cinnabon. You're great for helping this cute fella. My little furbaby goes strange on my piano. If I press a key near her when I'm playing (she lays on my keyboard whilst I play she loves the piano) I get those silly little attacks. My cats do the same thing on the carpet (acting crazy) but mine is from when people have walked outside came in took there shoes off, then pick them up the scent is on the carpet and they roll all over the spot where the shoes were. Your cat is playing on the stairs. He is quite proud to show you how he does it. When cats eyes go black its playtime. The little bite shows his displeasure. Eg touching paws or interrupting playtime. He is adorable. 🐱🐾

its cool to see cinnabon soo confident in himself. means he feels extra loved by u sir. 👊🏼 our lil blinky boo was similar and took 3 years of constant work to bring her around. she wouldnt come out from under the bed for a full year and a half and i brought her chicken nuggets, turkey, etc and slipped it under the bed for her every night. Id wake up, food was gone, but she wouldnt come out and we never went in after her. thats her safe space and when she was ready to come out she would....almost 2 years it took for her to try again with humans. now she is the most loving cat in the world and loves life to the fullest. you can see her extreme grattitude all over her face. she cant hide it amd gives you huge slow blinks every time u look at her. she purrs so loud it sounds like she is gonna take off on the runway.

The stairs are made of cat nip. I buy natural cat nip and sprinkle it in the bottom of a box. My cats roll in the cat nip. It’s hilarious. You should make a video of Cinnabon with an actual Cinnabon. They’re both very sweet.

He is not angry. He is just super stimulated and playful. The staircase is his play zone. On such occasions, if you mind getting bitten, the safe thing is to not pet him.
