These modern MREs are far superior to any of the ones I tried during my stint in the USMC from '85-'93. I'm actually impressed with the condiments that's included these days. i remember when they first started putting those ittle bottles of Tabasco sauce in the pouches and I thought that was the best thing since sliced bread.

sgtjarhead99 My Dad has MREs from when he was in the military at the end of the Vietnam war. They were in pouches which were thin like macaroni boxes. I had one once and it was interesting... ( meaning that it was slightly gross). I sympathize with you in trying MREs back in the day.

Man I remember the vanilla pound cake being a hot commodity when I was deployed. And I forgot they removed the little tobacco bottles from them. The tobacco was necessary to eat some of the MREs. But it does seem like you get more now. I don't remember getting all that in MREs. And of course I LOVE Cinnabon!

I taught my cat, Bo, to jump up on bed, table, chair... I just kept getting different rewards... Food, treats, Catnip. I would come , jump.... Jump. Jump. So now, if I want him, I just say... i LOVE cinnabon and you guys are the sweetest things, but just a helpful tip from another cat owner u can take it or not its just some help ive found useful. Some cats like treats better fed to them by hand, weird thing but its just how they are, especially when the food starts to pool on the sides of the bowl, it bothers them not sure why, and if you can try to pet him a little gentler. It doesnt hurt him or anything but cats usually dont like to be rassled like dogs like that, more of a downward petting motion. much love!

Iv eaten a lot of mre's in the field, my favorites would be the @23 chicken pesto pasta, and the newish #20 breakfast skillet scramble I think. Overall I hate mre's and always brought an assault pack full of chuncky soup and snacks to last the 2 week field problem.
