Thank you, especially for telling us the measurements of ingredients. This is gonna be helpful now that Hardee's has replaced the best breakfast menu item they ever had with a janky cinnamon roll. Also agree with you about White Lily. It's the best flour.

I make a similar biscut about once a month. I use a pastry flour from "Bob's Red Mill". This is a company in Oregon. They turn out pretty good. I've been making cinnamon biscuts off and on for years. I always thought I was the only one and people use to think it was strange. Glad to see this video and those wonderful biscuts. :)

mmm - they sound delightful & look fantastic - I'd bet they are way better than Hardee's too! Yum; If we weren't under a severe winter storm watch, I might just venture out to get some of the WhiteLily Flour - Great tip by the way; My old neighbor used that flour for her biscuits and they were great but I never made the connection! Thanks, it will help! :-)

Do you make your own instant pudding mix or buy the boxed? The boxed has gotten to pricey and I hate having the artificial ingred. I found several recipes on line. I will try it. Lots cheaper and look so easy. I truely enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing.

Do you think 'bread flour' would work as well? Or sifting 'all purpose' flour before you measure?

Thank you for the information. When I make plan biscuits, I sift all purpose unbleached, so that is what I will probably use. Very UNHEALTHY but I am hoping that it will be better than eating a homemade cinnamon bun. :0) At least I can make them smaller. Smiles, Lark

I am a pretty good baker and get special requests often. I drove 30 mins. to the only place around me to get the WL flour. I tried to make these biscuits and they were just awful. I don't know what I did wrong, but they turned out hard and very dry. After my family tried them and agreed with me, they went in the garbage. I don't think I will try again.
@daveobsoleteammo45474 жыл бұрын
it is going to be hard to LEARN what you did wrong if you just give up and quit . Cooking is an ART , not a science . Variables always happen with what type of flour you use for this purpose and how your oven works compared to others where the recipe was created at , and even down to the type of pan you chose to cook this recipe in . You MUST learn to experiment , and ONLY that will help you to keep getting better . Sometimes you have to adjust the temp of the oven , or the cooking time , or add a little more , or a little less of some ingredient to get what you desire . Then someday you will actually CREATE something you have never tried before that comes out SUPER , and you can tell the world about it . We can hardly wait for it . p.s . In making biscuits you MUST not mix the dough very much at all , or your end result will not rise very much and they turn out hard . In mixing cake batter the opposite is true , need lots of mixing to get good cake .
