Rain water is clean because when a cloud picks up water, it only takes the water in the evaporation process. Nothing else goes with it, not the salt from oceans, or pollution from other bodies of water. However, if you collect it and pipe it in an unclean way you're still just getting nasty water...

The whole coffee thing is called cowboy coffee and a lot of the cowboys who were eating out of Dutch wagons and had to pack everything in a tight space cause they were living on the range so he did not invent the coffee thing

That’s not what cowboy coffee usually refers to though. You just boil water in a pot, put coffee grounds in, mix them up and let it steep until the grounds fall on the bottom. Basically unfiltered, most of the grounds stay on the bottom.

I'm wondering if they're on a septic line, because my water bill would be that much on water use, but the charge for water treatment puts it to about $30-something. Also, most people don't seem to realize that everyone's automatically charged for a minimum amount of water usage, even if they don't actually use that much. Like, all they have to do is look at the bill to figure that out.

I moved less than 20 miles and my water bill went from $100-$130 to $8-$10 monthly. I think some smaller towns force customers into much higher prices. Sad part is the water there was disgusting in taste and ruined everything it made repeated or prolonged contact with bc it was so full of minerals and other things. I didn't know a single person there who actually drank from the tap bc it was so gross. Where I am now the water tastes great.

I would like to watch a show where an accountant or just any human with knowledge of the dollar store and arithmetic comes in and wrecks these cheapskates by explaining that all their sacrifice either saves the $1.27 a year or actually is costing them more money.

I love how no coffee is in that sock he pulled out of that cup and clean water is running out of it. That way he not ONLY saves money on the filter BUT also on the coffee by just drinking hot water filtered through an empty sock. This man is a true genious!

For my reusable straws I might use his idea for the stainless steel ones because of the bend in them, the straight ones I tend to stuff a pellet of paper towel in there and use a sleep to push it through.
