Never give up..never....‼️..I used to ride a bicycle because I had no car...lived on the border of mexico & the U.S but couldn't speak Spanish so the only job I could get was sweeping floors, and cleaning bathrooms...I would ride my bicycle 4 miles at night to an ally behind a bank where they threw out large boxes of papers...I would take my pocketknife and cut out sections of the boxes and use them to draw and paint on because I couldn't afford canvases, or nice sketch pads....my life is different now, but I am still poor...but being poor forced me to become super creative with solutions for my problems, and the means of doing art, ..being one of them....the only failure is to give up, or to not try at all...never give up..ever...or else your soul will never forgive you...you are forever in my prayers...

I'm currently in the market for a tablet for use in digital coloring (I've commissioned colorists through out 2020 for a few pieces but the costs quickly add up). I still work traditionally (pencil and ink on bristol) so coloring my scans would be the only thing I use it for. No real bells or whistles needed, so I might give this one a go.

almost 3 years with this tablet and haven't failed me once, the ONLY thing I'd critizise is the display protector that makes the image look less clear, and after the years of use the protector is full of scrateches and theres no proector with the same feeling and texture in the market, so in the end I removed it, and the image is SO much clear now, albeit the pen feels slippery now and the glass has a scratch or two now. This tablet is awesome, I'll inevitably upgrade for a pro 24 someday, but I see myself using the 16 as a side tablet to draw on the couch/bed until the end of time.

The display feels matted down though, it's not glossy or glassy so to speak just to be clear. It may discourage some from trying it out if they think "Oh it's pure glass, must feel like an ipad." Haha I just got mine after doing traditional for years and I love the screen texture.

I have both the Innovator16 and the Wacom Cintiq 16. The pen on the Cintiq feels nicer. On the Innovator some very light strokes are not always registered, but I guess if the pressure curve is adjusted properly (which can be done in the device drivers) it would work normally. I find the side buttons and scroll wheel very convenient. When the pen is tilted, on the Innovator the cursor is about 2 pixels to the side of the tip of the pen, which does not happen on the Cintiq. I use one or the other device all day. At the end of the day, if I work on the Innovator, I feel my arm more tired than when I work on the Cintiq. I would say that if you use your device for work, especially long hours, go with the Cintiq. But if you only intended to use it for a couple hours everiday, go with the Innovator. I should just say that I use the devices to give online classes. I do not know how using the devices to create art, which is probably the main use for this kind of devices, would change my opinion on them.

I got the innovator 16 myself for Christmas, working good for what I need, the past 4 years I used a intuos pro, not having touch or a eraser feature is annoying on it but having the side button be switching eraser and pen, and no touch is less of a issue, also I definitely would wait for a sale for it to $400 which seems pretty common

What about scratches on the screen? Does the Cintiq 16 get scratched up after a few months of use, making the screen difficult to look at?
@Hokunin
@Hokunin Жыл бұрын
Yes, it scratches very easily. The screen is not glass smooth, its rough and hard plastic like matte, so when you draw on it, scratches come up almost instantly and pen nibs wear off the tip with just one picture drawing. Wacom says it is to simulate the rough feeling of a paper, but in reality it is ofc to sell you plastic nibs every week for big bucks. And after a month you might wanna pay to Wacom for screen change too. So in order to avoid scratches buy screen protector film on day one. And never draw on screen without protective film.

I would love for you to do video on how you simplify some anatomy for poses I've been studying anatomy for drawing for 4 months now ( only just upper torso muscles and upper arm muscles finishes along with a good bit of the back ) for practice I've been taking different characters and paintings and have drawing the pose in stick figure and building the muscles on top of that to observe the shape. I know in stylised work some liberties are taken to make the pose more interesting. In cartoons thats not such a big issue because they are traditionally made up of only a few shapes. In more anatomically correct drawings like yours and say blizzards work and to a lesser extend anime. Certain liberties are taken sometimes to allow the pose to look natural yet interesting. What I've noticed when drawing the muscles on certain paintings done ( not so much yours and more so say anime and some gaming art ) that if you draw out the anatomy the pose is just not possible for a human to hit that pose if the muscles are correct like the abs when even at their thinnest possible literally could not stretch that way or the skeleton just wouldn't bend that way and allow the muscles to still exist. Even in their smallest possible fashion. I guess I'm asking that how do you readjust the shapes to allow these poses and yet keep the drawing looking so natural and anatomically correct?

Great video and I used to own that tablet :) One thing though. I will complain my entire life until I die on the fact that Wacom still has a 3 cable management. Huion, a small Japanese company has a SINGLE cable on USB C to USB C option on every single one of their tablets PLUS it has option for 3 cable management at the same time. I cannot fathom the fact that a 300$ tablet from Huion has better cable management than Wacom Cintiq for 600$ :c this is 2021 already, and they are still behind on it I just wish they make that change already. HDMI is a technology from 2002. All the macbooks have only USB C connections these days. Why is this a thing? Sorry for such rant, but that just grinds my gears so much on a daily basis when I look into Wacom and other companies.

I recently got a Wacom Cintiq 16 after having a Huion Kamvas 16. I gotta say, I vastly prefer my Cintiq over my Wacom. The driver is far better and the pen pressure is easier to set and more responsive. I can also say that The screen never really gets hot even after 6 hrs of use. When I ordered mine I also ordered the remote that they made for the Cintiqs because I vastly prefer my hot keys. It has taken some getting used to the configuration of the express keys, but having more buttons available to program has been super nice (just got to remember which one is which XD)

I'm interested in this Cintiq 16 - is this way better than Wacom One, or just a little? Also, is this 16 the best you can get in this price range - have you used anything by the competition in this price range? You seem to like this 16, but are you love'n it for the price?

This one has 4k. The cintiq 16 does not. Personally, I can't use anything with less than a 4k display anymore. But I've been working on high end equipment my whole career.

@@TrentKaniuga Thanks for the info. Ok, so I'm a book illustrator and want to get away from a mouse (does good work but way too slow). I'm new to these drawing tablets, but I do professional / technical art (architectural, engineering, action, cityscapes). Would I be better suited with a Wacom One or this Cintiq 16? Thanks - good video!

Didnt the cintiq 16 come out a few years ago? Did they do a new, no paralax version?

I guess they just want to promote the budget version and yes this model came out January 2019. It has parallax but it is not an issue. The drawing experience is very accurate.

I'm older than sand, can get lost with a digital watch...& my cousin is trying to introduce me into the digital art world with a 50.00 drawing tablet . He says that I must learn to throw a ball before I can learn to play baseball...in this analogy..I know he is correct, but....but I want this Cintique16 so badly, that I feel I must have it...even If I must hide it until a later date.....#myPRECIOUS😁
