Peacock Maiden: I agree, and can you tell me, does psychiatry, f ex its psychologists, know abouth these things, I believe so? Why don't they help me regulate my sleep, but let me go sleepless fore decades? They put me ión drugs instead, promising therapy if I took them, but never gave tat therapy(yet)I am so broken down by healthcare "treatment" and sleep deprivation, autoimmune disease etc, tht I wonder whethre I have been in dissociation. They never exaine me properly, why don't they do theuísr job? And why do thye blame mefor not being happy with it, please? A sadistsic psychiatrist even blamed me for having a sense /will of self prservation instinct!An d blamed me fro stressing her(!) as I eventually came to the reception acutely, not managing to be left alone in the air without any support and help, treatment. How is this possible, and don't they want peope to get well and work, pay taxes??I'd appreciate it much if you cared to answer. All the best to you, Nurse!

They would probably feel better if you talked them through these things yourself. Proper human contact and interaction is what is missing in mental healthcare, I understand it is time consuming and the system is so broken though and you are just one person doing a job.

😊 I'm grateful for the detailed information. I'm working on my circadian rhythm sleep cycle. I encourage everyone to get high quality circadian rhythm sleep in a completely dark, clean room. I wear a sleep mask typically, which is very helpful. I eat super clean, gf, df, sf, corn free, ETC. I know my food allergies and food sensitivities. I'm working on gut health. I know we should stpp blue light exposure 1-2 hours before going to sleep. We should eat very well and stop eating 2-4 hours before we go to sleep so our bodies are resting, not working by digesting. I know what it feels like to have extremely low cortisol and all other hormones are dangerously low at same time. Its horrible. Treating the root causes of illness has made a huge difference. I have treated Lyme and co-infections, heavy metals, parasites, mold, environmental toxins, etc. We must maintain detox protocols throughout life since we are exposed constantly. I eat in anti-inflammatory ways. I have made a lot of progress. I love sharing your videos to help others.

Someone gave me a hug and I was angry when it happened, but later I thought it might be sincere after all, and it made me calm down from my stress later in the day when I thought about the hug and physical contact. People and proximity can both stress me out depending on I think of them as a threat, or calm me down if I think of them as a support.
@Medietos
@Medietos Жыл бұрын
Kitty Kat: Hello, do you care to tell why the hug angered you, please?It can in me when the person does it instead of communicating with showing interest, care, friendship, connection. Making emotional contact before seeking to get hugs from me is everything, and I loathe it when there is a conflict between one and people initiate hugs instead of taking care of the stress i the problem or at least address it, own it. Particularly men do that, seek body contact without making good emotional contact first, even sex. It makes me feel disappointed, thinking I am being cheated of the emotional-psychical relief and healing that I so need. And since I am the one with bigger issues, I should be let to be the one initiating hugs, since it is sensitive, can be stressful s you said, and can feel painful too. One is so sensitive.

@@DocSnipes Thank you for being open to what are the concerns or opinions of people who are working in their brains to understand and absorb what you are saying on many different levels. This stuff is sooo powerful for me on the physical level, but also on the growing level in terms of how I see the world and my independence from the things and people who have trapped me because of my inability to help my own self with my needs, you know, with me in control. Control over my life, makes me relax. I do not ever want control over other people, though.

I can't tell how much better I feel after a good nights sleep! I have not been able to get my circadian rhythms fixed yet, but I am coming upon it slowly. But understanding the "in's and outs" of my cortisol and stress levels helps motivate me to see more and more what is behind the trauma response that I have been in since childhood (age 10). Seeing what I missed in terms of anyone taking care of me and keeping me safe to live and grow is what I missed as a "punished" parentified child. I even had a counselor "punish" me because I did not give her what she needed! Do you work through a university, Dr. Snipes?

Its good to know that sometimes the reason you may be feeling suicidal is not all that is "wrong" in your life, just that you change something in your routine. Fix that and there is hope to feel good again. It is a game changer.

VIDEO REQUEST: Hey Doc, thanks for this video. Can you do a video on how to get your HPA and vagal tone back into working order? You talk about heightened / "on all the time" axis, but I have the opposite problem. I grew up with a very angry dad who kept telling at me to get things done. He was like a pitbull: consistently aggressive and always yelling. Always. To the point my response to things I SHOULD respond to is nothing. I feel nothing. My nerves are shot. Whenever I have a deadline I don't feel healthy adrenaline or wtvr to get it done. I literally feel nothing. And now that I need to find a job, I feel like my dad's yelling is in my ear and it's like a little electric prod on my nervous system and I get anxious and I just want to curl up into a fetal position. Anyway, how do I slowly get myself back up to normal responses? Thank you.

There are people who have circadian rhytm gene mutations such as CLOCK gene mutations. What should they do if they have an internal circadian rhythm that is longer than 24 h?
@DocSnipes
@DocSnipes 6 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching the video. Here are some tips to Addressing Circadian Rhythm Gene Mutations: Consult with a Healthcare Provider: If you suspect a genetic mutation like a CLOCK gene mutation is affecting your circadian rhythm, it's important to consult with a healthcare provider. They can offer specific advice and may suggest seeing a specialist in sleep medicine or genetics. Structured Light-Dark Exposure: Carefully manage your exposure to light and darkness. Use bright light therapy in the morning to signal your body to wake up and reduce light exposure in the evening to encourage sleepiness. Consistent Sleep Schedule: Maintain a strict sleep-wake schedule. Going to bed and waking up at the same time every day can help regulate your internal clock. Sleep Environment Optimization: Create an environment conducive to sleep, which is dark, quiet, and cool. Consider using blackout curtains and white noise machines if necessary. Medication and Supplements: Discuss with your healthcare provider the possibility of using medications or supplements like melatonin to help regulate your sleep-wake cycle. Lifestyle Adjustments: Engage in regular physical activity and ensure exposure to natural light during the day. Avoid stimulants like caffeine and nicotine, especially in the hours leading up to bedtime. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) can be an effective treatment for sleep disorders and may help adjust your sleep patterns. Monitor and Adjust: Keep a sleep diary to monitor your sleep patterns and the effectiveness of the strategies you are using. Adjust your approach as needed in consultation with your healthcare provider. By implementing these strategies, you may be able to better manage the effects of a circadian rhythm gene mutation and improve your alignment with a 24-hour cycle.
