All 80's kids' worst nightmare regarding Speak n' Spell when batteries are low at nighttime. LOL However, it would have been an awesome prank to rewire the circuitry (very discreetly) and have it wig out on them when, especially if they spelled something incorrectly. It's stern sounding command: "SAY IT!!" always freaked me out. But, really...this modification rocks. Super creative.

That’s circuitry for you! I’d imagine the hz of the refresh rate affects the pitch, or vice versa. It makes a little bit of sense - why have two separate frequency generators if you can just use one of them for 2 functions?

I used to have one of these. I have synesthesia which means the sound of certain songs, sounds or some voices make me automatically see an image in my head. The startup sequence sound has always made me see a field of white sheep and sometimes I smell the farm smell as well

That is cool. I have the same condition, but the start up sounds just made me see some colors. Some of the modified sounds really get creapy though. Also, I taste things that I touch sometimes, and trying to explain to people that no, I did not eat thing, but I still taste it is really hard. Oh, I am blind and have a little bit of autism as well.

I was to a little, but circuit bending doesn't break it, because he can just turn the mods off. Kind of like adding an extra light bulb that's a different color, you can turn it off if you don't need it. I would love to circuit bend a certain few things of mine, but have not, because I don't want to break them, and no one I no knows what the heck I am talking about, and it's not like you can just search, circuit bending shops near me.

I have the raised-button one, and can never find schematics for that specific one :/ I've been finding stuff on my own, but trying to find the base for the pitch is so hard. I found the down pitch, but can't find the up or a good base for it. I found a fucking nuts loop bend, though, and I love it. Just wish I could find actual bend schematics for my specific model
