Very nice explanation man! I been doing circuit training for the past 4 months and yes it the best for fat loss I have loss approximately 40 lbs, but now that I'm in a good shape my next goal is building muscle aswell as strength. This video made me realized I need to do reps and sets in order to gain muscle faster thanks alot and keep on those videos coming!!!

Different content for different audiences. I don’t think THENX is bad and It was one channel that got me interested to start training in the first place, the main one being Calisthenics Movement really, but I really like Gabo’s channel. It’s very deep and educational. I prefer the holistic approach and his happiness to share his knowledge. Shows a bigger passion than the money machine of THENX. Not to criticise! Chris Heria has done a damn sight more than I had at his age. 🤘🏻

Great video! Thank you for the detailed break down. Reps/Sets training is much more efficient in busy gyms where you have to wait for certain equipment to be available, because it allows you to bang out all your sets/reps in one shot. By decreasing the rest period to about 30 seconds, endurance and strength can be built. The challenge as you mentioned is to still maintain good form as always. Thanks!

You can also combine this 2 Methods in one Workout. For myself i do reps/sets at the beginning as skills, and to finish the workout i do a circuit basic style with pull ups dips and so on.
@violentartist5606 жыл бұрын
I basically do a mixture of these two styles of training. I do weighted pull ups & weighted dips for reps&sets And do a full body circuit style workout afterwards with easier variations.
@saulsainz18062 жыл бұрын
Good choice. Do you also practice skills? Plus, do you train full body 3-4 times a week or do you do Pull, push, and leg days.

Hi Gabo, I usually implement a hybrid method between circuit and reps&sets. I would typically perform supersets of antagonistic muscle groups (Example A: Push ups + Australian Rows; Example B: Pull ups + OH Press; Example C: Ring bicep curls + Ring tricep extensions) I get a lot out of this style of training as it allows me to get in plenty of training volume, it helps me recover fast between sets, it promotes structual balance across my muculoeskeletal system and it challenges my cardiovascular capacity. However, I do agree on the underlying conclusion of your video. Keep up the awesome work, man.

I thank Chris Heria for all the information he's put out there but I always found the lack of explanation for his workouts I paid for. I did circuit programs for more than a year and I've hit a plateau. I changed to a sets & reps workout, I hope it brings more size and strength. Thanks Gabo you are a beast! Also! Greetings from Iceland 🇮🇸, very informative Gabo, used to do circuit for about 10 months - slow muscle mass building , when I switch to reps + sets - improved quality of my reps, improved strength and within 3 months I gained same amount of muscle mass as for entire 10 months of circuit training. I think also it’s harder to injured yourself with sets and reps (because of less fatigue). Now I do circuit training as an extra addition once twice a week on gymnastics classes. 4 times a week have rep/sets traing + 2 days extra only doing squats (russian squat routine - around 30min workout) because I sucks in barbell squats - so I’d like to improve it. Cheers

Reps-Sets: 1) for rings because it takes time to adjust the height of the rings between exercises. 2) for hard exercises, so I can keep good form for the hardest exercises (at the start of the training). Circuit-training style: for the rest, mostly weighted training, so I can switch between muscle groups betweens exercises.

i used to think that it would be awesome to have a big gym and teach calisthenics to everyone to earn money but.... i find it more gratifying to just train people who are indeed interested in self growing, and have the intention and will to train. They might be way less people but they are genuine and doesnt take up my time, though i dont earn anything hahaha just like gabo said, it depends on our goals and what we want to do. which is also the same mentality we gotta have in our daily life decisions. Love the content. it is genuine, educational, and displays excellent vibes. (unlike that cocky chris heria haha)

I do a mix of both. I'm more focused on reps / sets style of training but I have at least one circuit style training session throw in to my training week because it saves me time. Doesn't hurt to have better endurance and cardio either. It's not the most optimal split but I find it fun to do so it's good enough for me.

Great topic, you covered it in a very accurate way, thank you for your ongoing commitment Gabo! :-D My personal approach is reps & sets PLUS "active waiting" on the cross trainer (just light movement at moderate speed) and mobility drills between the sets. This way I am moving constantly, it´s similar to HIIT training. I found that method great to get lean while building strength and muscles at the same time.
