In this video I take you through the installation of a salt chlorine generator. I bought the RJ-60Plus because it produces 3.1lbs of chlorine gas a day. By having a unit 3 times the size of my pool I only have to run it about 6 hours a day. This is an easy job that anyone can do themselves.

We replaced our sand filter with a pentair quad de filter and got more flow and cleaning. So much so we went from running the pump 24hrs a day to 3 hours a day and never had a problem. We eventually got a variable speed pump but I am not sure the value is there, I think a single speed pump running 5-10 minutes every hour is enough for us.

You mentioned, there's no gaskets when you snugged it up. There are two clear "O" ring gaskets that are included with this kit. They need to be put into the grooves on the grey fitting right before the cell is mounted inline.

salt is the way to go, i switched about 4 years ago, now the only thing i buy is salt (and the occasional muratic acid) no more red eyes, no more itching, no more loads of chemicals. saved a ton of money in the first year.

Do u need to use a 8 gauge copper wire to electrically bond the compupool to the heater, zinc anode, pump, all metals of ur pool??? I have a similar compu pool salt generator but I don’t see anywhere to place a bonding wire. Thanks!!!

Thanks, Bob...I had a 16' Intek with a sand filter and saltwater/chlorine generator, but it beat me to death trying to keep the chlorine levels high enough; then again my whole setup...pool, filter, pump and chlorine generator cost less than than any one of the Circupool products listed in your link! :>)

Nice video! Wondering if you considered mounting the cell upside down or "inverted", given that you have a variable speed pump. From the manual: "When using a Variable-Speed or Multi-Speed pump on a low speed setting, or for general circumstances where flow is less-than-adequate, the cell must be inverted in order to ensure adequate flow & efficient chlorine production."

Nice video. I've used granular chlorine for 40+ years and I'm ready to go to saltwater. I'm comparing models and features and ease of installation. I plan to install myself so I need a unit that has no warranty penalty for self install. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks

I connected it to the timer box, pump and chlorinator thinking would turn on on its own but no chlorinator didnt turn on and pump didnt and wiped put the memory. Any suggestions?

Isn’t the purple glue good enough? I saw where you also put the clear glue over the purple glue. Just wondering

The purple is a primer not glue. It cleans the pipe before using glue. However you should only apply it to the pipe withing 30 seconds of applying glue.

Edward Rutherford Thanks, I have some piping to do so was just wondering. I saw one dude before he just applied some blue color I’m assuming it was like the purple and put the pipes together so I’m not sure if the blue was blue or primer lol

@@edwardrutherford5855 the "purple" he is talking about is a 1 step pvc cement designed for use on wet pipes. Several companies make it, Oatey being one. Used a lot by irrigation people where it can be very hard to clear the pipes of water. In this case, drying the pipes is not an issue, so I would prefer to do as he did and use the 2 step process.

The fitting is but the switch is not. Simply unscrew the old and screw in the new. Easy peezy.

Te manual has the instruction on how to do it but in case you don't have it, this is the way: In the accessories that came with the unit is going to be a bag with ( bracket, o rings, screws and a black jumper with two ends ) go head and take the 6 screws in the back of the unit and you going to see on the circuit board another black little jumper between two screws, (total 4 screws ) remove the jumper and attach it to the 2 screws on the left and then put the other supply jumper to the right connecting the other 2 screws together, that's going to make the unit 110 voltages.
