5:28 I’ve always felt that when Indy was speaking to Mola Ram in Hindi and saying he betrayed Sheeva, was that Sheeva heard him. Especially when Mola Ram said “the stones are mine!” And if you look very closely you can see a whirlpool begin and it engulfs the other stones back to Sheeva while allowing Indy to take back the stone to the village and in Temple of Doom it’s the only adventure that Indy actually completes. He brought back the true treasure which are the children.

6:23 for those who were ever confused by the bad ADR in the butler scene, the recorded line was originally “I am Jesse Owens”. It was changed in post production simply because the filmmakers assumed at the time modern audience wound’t get the reference. It was even changed briefly to Mae West before they settled on Mickey Mouse for the same reason.

The scene with the sword wielding guy was actually supposed to be a long fighting sequence through several spots. Harrison Ford got dysentery so he was very sick at this scene.. He asked Spielberg if they could cut the whole thing short by just shooting the guy. Spielberg gave his blessing and that is how it is.

The way I always interpreted the scene where Mola Ram died in Temple of Doom was that Indy was being possessed by or somehow channelling Sheeva as he started speaking in the toungues and the rocks burned.

This implie he was possessed by the stones, making him sort of a victim and giving him a more tragic and nuanced end. However the final script didn't go that way and just made him evil
