How is cisco own network acadamy study material for SD-Wan? It’s a bit price but I liked their Encore study material

Very helpful tips thanks mate! I’m planning on doing the exam in a month. I’ve been studying on Cisco On-demand learning. Does anyone have an evaluation for the material in relevance to the actual exam?

When I made that video I was running a refurbished Dell R810 that I bought off Amazon for ~$900. (Sadly prices have got up since then.) I upgraded a while ago because I wanted to build a home DNAC lab. Currently I'm running on a Dell R820. 48 2.2Ghz Cores. 768GB RAM. 8x1TB SSD in RAID 5. (~$2k)

Congrats, Mr. J. Wolfe! We are taking a lot of cues from your progress. One of these days, could you make a video about approaching Tech. Recruiters? At what point on your journey do you begin to signal to them? Is it better to hold up till you're finally a CCIE? Afterall, at that stage, they know you actualized your goal.
@jeremiahwolfe2 жыл бұрын
I personally have had very little luck with recruiters in the past, so I don't have a specific strategy. Generally, I have found that the moment you update your profile on LinkedIn or any job board, the recruiters will find you. There are plenty of spam recruiters out there. They just send you endless "opportunities" hoping that one will just magically work. I tend to block them. There are other recruiters who are interested in you. They'll sit down with you and take the time to understand what you're looking for. The last time I was looking for a job was around 2012. I had a few recruiters who each took me to lunch and really tried to understand what I was looking for. Then, they would only call me if they had really good opportunities. You might not be able to expect that level of "service" until you're looking for more senior positions (positions that pay the recruiter a big commission). Even so, I would only work with someone who seems interested in benefiting YOU, not someone who is just desperate to earn their commission. As to when to engage with recruiters, I would wait till you're ready to actually find a job. That's just my opinion though. I'm not an expert.

Hi, are you a big fan of using flash cards? (spaced repetition and active recall)
@jeremiahwolfe2 жыл бұрын
Usually I don't take notes or use flash cards. But, for my CCIE studies there is just soooo much that I am making flash cards. I will say this. It's important to tailor your study techniques to match the way YOU learn. That's one of the best things about certification. You get to learn however you want. I've been talking IT exams since 1998. So I've had lots of experience to learn what works for me. Just do what works for you. Try different approaches and learn what works for you.

@@jeremiahwolfe I've finally met someone like me - to be honest, I really really learn best from reading books - I could read 3 different books on the same technology etc. BGP 1. Internet routing architectures 2. BGP Design and Implementation 3. Troubleshooting BGP: A Practical Guide to Understanding and Troubleshooting BGP

Where are you getting your SD-WAN device software images?? I want to study for this, but I do t know where to get the images. Any tips?
@jeremiahwolfe2 жыл бұрын
I address this question in the "long" version of this video, but the answer is pretty short. The only legal source for the software is Cisco. Here is a link to download from Cisco: software.cisco.com/download/home/286320995/type?catid=268437899 Out of curiosity I decided, just now, to see if I could find images from other sources. It took less than 1 minutes on Google to find multiple sources, some free, some paid.
@ca49652 жыл бұрын
@@jeremiahwolfe I wish that I had a service contract with Cisco to be able to download from them, but I’m poor and unconnected. I will try googling some things, but when I had tried in the past I was unsuccessful at finding any real links. I had previously purchased CML, but that only had the typical basic router images. I will watch your long video version soon. I do really appreciate all of your insights. Have you thought about starting your own Certification University, Professor Wolfe?
@jeremiahwolfe2 жыл бұрын
@@ca4965 I wouldn't bother with the long version of the video. There's no more info about images than what I just told you. I just Googled "eve-ng images download" and "eve-ng images share" and found several options on the first page.

Great job done ! Congratulations!! I have one questions 1) for this exam in particular why did you not try INE
@jeremiahwolfe2 жыл бұрын
The truth is I don't like learning well through classroom or video. It's just too slow. I'd much rather learn via book and lab. INE really goes in depth in their videos (which is great) but it's no how I learn best. I had preferred CBTNuggets because they don't go into too much detail. That way I can use them as more of a review than a greenfield teaching tool. However for this exam they missed so much that I didn't even consider it a good review.

@@jeremiahwolfe I saw your videos and you have got some heart to speak the real stuff.I too think a few OL platforms need to check on their content. thanks for your post!

Sir, Did you by chance run into any issues onboarding the cEdge? I'm using CA certificates which are signed on the vEdge (vshell). However, when I attempt to onboard the cEdge to vManage; - vManage states that it can't find a device with the common name.. Any suggestions would be super appreciated! For reference, the vEdges works great and onboard as expected. Cheers!
@jeremiahwolfe2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I did have issues with the cEdges. Though to be honest, I don't remember the specific errors. My problem was that sometimes the cEdges would work, other times not, even though I was doing everything the same.. I found that following the cEdge onbording guide EXACTLY seemed to help. Particularly, stopping the pnp service before doing anything else seemed to help. That's how I remember it anyway. According to my study schedule, I'll be returning to SD-WAN for my CCIE studies in late November. So, I'm sure I'll have to figure it out all over again. Here's the guide by the way: www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/solutions/CVD/SDWAN/sdwan-wan-edge-onboarding-deploy-guide-2020nov.pdf Interestingly, one of my viewers took the CCIE and failed due to issues he was having with the SD-WAN onboarding process. He swore that it wasn't him, but Cisco disagreed. (He passed when it retook it a couple months later.)

exam is not as hard as he states. build a PVE in eve or cisco cml, mess around with routing, templates, and visit all the features in vManages UI and you will pass. think logically and this is cake exam.
