Whitney does her mouth exactly like her mom when they go for certain notes you can see it. It is amazing how much we take after our parents. Some people say Cissy was living off Whitney but that is a lie, she had her own thing for a long time before Whitney came out.

I remember when this single hit the club scene in '78. I had the LP and played it over an over again. I loved it. Of course, Whitney was non-existent to the public at that time. Cissy's credits were backing up Miss Franklin and she also had some gospel notoriety. I don't even recall any media hype connecting her to Dionne Warwick until much later. Cissy was solidly standing on her own talent.

Did I read a post that said Whitney trashed the gift that God gave her? Well if being one of the biggest aritst ever in the world is trashing it then...smh. No matter what happend to Whitney in her lifetime she still was a child of God. So all the haters including some artist, media, so called family and friends. If you love Whitney as a person and not for what she could do for you...maybe she would still be here. RIP Whitney...We will always love you...

I surely do remember.. I was a pre-teen when that show came on Saturday afternoon.. Those days were great!
"Good God" !!!!!!!!!!........Cissy knocked it outta the park back in the day !!! This fabulous disco tour de force was like nothing that came before or after ! Close in feel and format to "Jackie Moore's awesome "This Time Baby , they both remain two of the best and most sophisticated numbers of that time. The rhythm, the drama and of course , "Cissy's" breakthrough performance.......dance floor perfection to this day !!! These three talented dynamo's ( Dionne , Cissy and Whitney ) were no mere "fluke" to arrive as family when they decided to visit the earth in these otherworldly incarnations ! We are ALL the better for their musical contributions !!! Thank you ladies ! 💗💗💗

A great song from a great lady. Loved this from back when. The younger generation never knew Cissy. This is where daughter Whitney learned to hone the gift God gave gave her.
She sounds a lot like Whitney. My heart still aches for the loss of her. Her poor mother...

Great song! 1978 Great voice! one of the greatest back up singers in the business! She is at home with soul, and gospel and more! She backed up the super star Aretha Franklin Led the Imperials when they were the female back up group for Elvis! Her daughter was following in her steps when her career struck tragedy by the name of Bobby Brown although it's not really fair to put all the weight on him either, She is also the Aunt of Dionne Warwick and her talented but lesser known singer and sister Dee Dee Warwick and a cousin of opera singer Leontyne Price She comes from a musical family and she is the matriach Cissy's family was at home in almost any form of music ans singing!

At first when I heard that this song was Whitney's mother, I was originally turned off because of the music in the beginning of the 8:10 version, so I would always skip over it. But when I learned that Cissy was the one who held that high note in Aretha Franklin's "Ain't No Way", I told myself I would give "Think It Over" a full listen before I would continue with the same thought. Boy, am I glad I changed my mind! Now it's the most played song in my list and I absolutely love the partially penned Cissy lyrics. "Can't we forget about the wrong that we've done and make it just like brand new?" Not even Chic all the way to Taylor Swift could have came up with such a lyric. Cissy looked STUNNING in this video - smiling and shaking ever so subtly. I wish they showed more of her than the dancing - we all almost could emulate the dancing of the time, haha!

This was filmed in NYC. The style of hustle danced is the New York style from where the hustle was created. Compare the dancing to soultrain or American bandstand, you can see how much more sophisticated and elegant N.Y. style is.
