I dragged my parents into a shop in Den Hague in 94 as an amazed 8 year old, there was a game of epic going on and models for sale on every wall and I walked out with a box of fantasy goblins and a deck of these cards. I used to have the "Spacewar" deck when I first got into WH40K (it was actually new on the shelves then!), and used to have great fun singing the Pink Panther theme whenever the character Dedanth Moonstalker came up (you know, "De-danth, De-danth, De-danth De-danth De-danth De-danth De-daaaaAAAAAAAAAANTH!!!"). I still kinda miss the Rogue Trader-era miniatures because they all had so much character - they didn't all look so uniform, and that gave even the lowliest anonymous army-builder grunt a more unique feel. As an aside, we used to play Cheat in the refectory at college, with the record being about 7 decks of standard paying cards in one 4-player game... we used to have an unwritten rule that your likelihood of getting called out was inversely proportional to the actual likelihood of your statement - so claiming to have 6 aces of various suits might get called, but saying you had 36 Queens of Hearts (out of seven decks, remember) would usually result in everyone looking at each other and laughing, and letting it ride. Good times.

@@hamzahsajjad7952 Majorkill mentioned Gamza in a video talking about the toxic side of 40k. Gamza thought the video was dedicated directly to him which it wasn't and made a very bad response video then Major responded with a video that pretty much destroyed Gamza's. Personally, I believe they got their share of rights and wrongs in their videos but the one in the worse side, after watching all 3 videos, is Gamza. Which I really want to go back to the Gamza that did silly facts videos, lore videos about 40k firepower and so on rather than this gamza full of ego that makes weird complains about almost everything new 40k while simultaneously stating his not bothered by such trivial things.

As defeated cards aren't taken into the victor's hand (which is how I vaguely remember playing Top Trumps), each player could bring their own deck to play Combat Cards, so that would theoretically allow games of greater than 36 players. We had a 'house rule' that in addition to the stat you could state a symbol that appears at the bottom, then unless the top card of the other players decks had that symbol on they would put it on the bottom then play the next card and repeat up to 3 times. Was a nice way to add a bit of complexity to a deck you'd almost played to death, and introduce new tactics eg, if you think your card it tough by the stranded of mages you may use that stat when you wouldn't otherwise.

Ah, Warhammer Top Trumps! I had a second-edition deck of these. I was bought them when I was about nine years old. I never understood the hostility to Warhammer Adventures, the game has always had an entry point for youngsters, here in cold and rainy Bongland at least. Funnily enough I do remember the Mortal Kombat kartoon when it was new and first broadcast as well. Even back then as a child I thought it was rubbish and that it was super-lame that they only ever beat up robots (one padded scene that sticks out in my mind is Sonia spending what seemed like a full minute putting things in her backpack while fast-paced battle themes played in the background) although with the perspective of hindsight it is kind of hilarious as a last gasp of the era when bloody and violent 18-cert movies like Toxic Avenger and RoboCop could get kids' shows!
