Congratulations on 10k, Ryan. The hogs in the water reminded me of the early 70s when I flew for Sierra West Airlines (part 135) out of Oxnard, CA. We held exclusive landing rights on Santa Cruz Island; then privately owned, now a National Park. There was a working cattle ranch on the island, and a private club held exclusive hunting rights for wild boar and bighorn sheep. We flew 310s, 320s, Super G-18 and Britten Norman Islander. The challenge was the Ranch Strip. 1,000 feet of usable runway, 10% grade, and four feet wider then the main gear on the Twin Beech. (A one-way strip, and... "it separated the men from the boys")! There was another strip toward the west end of the island for the hunt club, and we occasionally landed (PA-32 or 206) on the beach on the west end of the island when we had 'company parties.' If you remember the opening scene, a formation of F-4U Corsairs flying over an island, on the TV series "Baa Baa Black Sheep" (also called "Black Sheep Squadron"), that was filmed over the east end of Santa Cruz Island. Thanks for bringing back those memories.....................

Congratulations Ryan! Have you ever considered being an ag pilot? Aka cropduster. By the way, every time my wife and I hear the song, “She had me at Heads Carolina” we think of your sweet daughter sitting in the co pilots seat singing that same song! Happy for your success!

Just one question. What's your opinion on the family of Williams international FJ 44 and FJ33 engines. I've worked there in R&D for 36 years and very proud of those powerplants. Fantastic on the 10k subs. We need more of your daughter flying with you.

What advice do you have for other pilots who would like to do what you are doing? I dont know if you are contracting on your own or through a company or both… but love the versatility and seemingly many different options for airplanes, etc.

Hey Ryan! Congrats on 10k, I’ve really been enjoying these videos! I’m a 1,350hr commercial pilot looking for SIC opportunities in Little Rock. Would you happen to know if your company or any nearby are looking for SIC’s? Would love to chat!
@TheRunwayRyan Жыл бұрын
Aaron, thank you for the comment. If you have instagram, could you reach out to me there? RunwayRyan there as well. KZbin doesn't have a god way to private message someone. My company only flies single pilot, so we aren't looking for anyone right now, but I'd like to talk with you.
