RJ, Wow so many stories today. Great choice that you picked to report on. Always my favorite news broadcaster every week. Appreciate the work you put in. I am the news finder your the face of it all. No one wants to see me talk lol.

Ah you say that, call it a podcast then and give it ago

I am Delta Gold Medallion and because most first class tickets are at a reasonable price for me I just buy First Class from the get go and I don’t need to 🙏 for an upgrade.
@RJFinancialАй бұрын
That's fair and probably the way to go. Then the issue becomes what's the benefit of status?
@Leoprieto74Ай бұрын
@ Same with United and American Airlines,.. I just buy first class from the get go. Status with airlines is way overrated. And btw, I am talking about US Domestic flights. I can’t afford international FC tickets 😂

When I log into my AA Account, it has an offer for the new card with the miles bonus. Wondering if I can get away with that even though I have the Barclays card, then maybe cancel? 🤷♀️
@RJFinancial18 күн бұрын
I don't know of any rules that say you can't have both. Check the eligibility requirements or send me a screen shot and I can. Should be doable though

I dropped the Citi AA card and moved to the Barclays Aviator when they dropped Travel Insurance a few years back. I received an email from them that they would transion me to Citti in 2016. If they think I'll accept the same card I dropped back then guess again Citi!
@RJFinancialАй бұрын
I'd guess Citi transfers it to either the free or $99 annual fee version. As that would be easiest. Those aren't great options to you point. A new card would likely come later in 2026, could even the the Aviator under a new name
@scooter3973Ай бұрын
Business class only for international flights. Domestic out me in economy. I’ll wait for 2026 to see if Citi will get there act together. Another great video, thanks RJ!

Citi picking up AA as a transfer partner could be huge but I need more details before going all in on Citi cards. If it’s a 1:1 transfer i’ll likely be picking up my first Citi cards but if it’s 2:1 or 3:1 then I’ll just stick with my Barclays card.
@RJFinancialАй бұрын
Barclays card will eventually be no more. I'd guess it's 1:1, that's the table minimum these days. Even Capital One fixed most of their rates
@WhatsThePoints1Ай бұрын
Wonder if this will make it any easier to get approved for a Barclays AA card
@RJFinancialАй бұрын
One last run before they pull the card. Can't imagine it'll be available much longer
@WhatsThePoints1Ай бұрын
@ problem is my last 2 denials were both on Oct 1 so not a lot of credit profile change since then and they’re already inquiry sensitive

People are paying for first class because they don’t want to deal with the WWF that often goes on in coach.
@RJFinancialАй бұрын
Ha that's a good point. It's much easier in the front-mid zones vs the back that can be a disaster
@caribdude8151Ай бұрын
What is WWF? 🤔

Citi and AA are like that couple that have been living together for years, there's been ups and downs with cheating, but they're finally going to take things serious and tie the knot.
@RJFinancialАй бұрын
Solid comparison. Always have hight hopes for ole Citi, yet they always find away to let me down

I agree with you regarding CFPB and disagree with DOGE and the richest African-American in regard to maintaining it. We bank hustlers gain a lot from the CFPB, and whilst it's origins justification a bit sus (i.e. the narrative that the banks caused 2008 and not Fannie/Freddie mortgage quotas beginning in 1992 - argument for a different time I suppose), it benefits the consoomer tremendously. If it's wasteful and unnecessarily restricting bank and finance operations, sure, trim the regulation and reform it. But it needs to stay as a strong arm to enforce muh bonuses. It's not exactly the elephant in the room with regard to government waste.
@RJFinancialАй бұрын
I also agree on the 08 mortgages. Banks were the last one standing so they got the blame. Plenty of people were in on it and knew what they were doing. Of course some didn't but still, not all big bad banks I do use the CFPB a few times per year in this game. Process could be better but it does give us a fighting chance

If Citi releases a prestige 2.0 or whatever they'll call it, I hope it'll have access to AA lounges like the Platinum has with Delta. That's a real downside to the CSR that you can't get in the United lounges with it.
@ServiceAceStudАй бұрын
CITI also trademarked CITI loungrs, which might be a good indicator for their own lounges. AA would be nice while they build them out.
@RJFinancialАй бұрын
That's a good call. Probably negotiated something along those lines to bolster the top tier card. Citi also trademarked their own lounge name awhile back
@newagain9964Ай бұрын
@@RJFinancial Why would AA cannibalize its own (overpriced) card revenue? That’s y they left Amex yrs ago (and forced Amex to make lifestyle perks on plat).
@RJFinancialАй бұрын
@@newagain9964 Same as Delta and the other lounges, make the money up front. Then worry about the devaluation of the product later. Also a place holder until Citi can get their lounges going. If they follow through. Seems to be what Chase is trying to do but adding Aeroplan lounges. Assuming other airline options follow

Is Barclays hard pull sensitive? Think im 4 or 5 /24 but around 9 or 10 HP.

Yes they are.

Just picked up Red Aviator 4 days ago. Froze EQ and EX and left Trans Union open. I was at 6 new cards in 12 months.

I'll defer to the comments below. May be worth a shot as I'm sure the card will soon get pulled

Guess we will get the CFF Q1 2025 video on the Sunday from next which will be December 22! 👍
@RJFinancialАй бұрын
Sometimes they come out on the 14th, if Chase publishes them early enough. I'm a tape in the morning, edit in the afternoon kinda guy so we'll see
@shawn.creditАй бұрын
They will kill off the excellent looking Aviator card design most likely and pc folks to the AA Platinum cards so bland ha.
@RJFinancialАй бұрын
They should keep the color way. Citi designs are awful, the executive may be the worst, not even in the AA color way
