Hey guys, loved the battle report. Just one thing, if I'm not mistaken, the Frost Phoenix doesn't get the resurrect on a 4+, it's only the Fire Phoenix.

I belive only the fire phoenix has the return to full ability, not the frostheart.

You don't have to reveal the Assasin if the unit is attacked even if you Beleive the unit will be wiped out. If the unit he is hiding in is destroyed he reveals and suffers one mortal wound. So you don't have to sacrifice him for no reason. Also don't forget about Thanquol duplicating commands so you could of issued all out defence to 2 units. Love seeing the Skaven in batreps, the ratboys need more representation. Thanks guys.

something you need to remember about storm fiends is u can pull them back and rally, while its still on 6s each one that comes back is a monster

Top tip for Phoenicium lists: the best builds are MSU units of whatever you want with some crappy stuff to sacrifice in order to get the +1/+1

Interesting game, probably would have been very different without the accidental cheating, but it is what it is and was still fun. I believe the last time I saw Matt play Phoenix guard with the birds was some time in 2nd edition against Josh playing Kharadron Overlords.

1:32:40 Hammerhal is the melee focussed city. This list probably would have done better there. The Phoenicium is considered one of the worst cities by Cities players.

when i got into aos durring the pandemic i really considered starting a phoenix army...and this is that exact army i built... i regret my choices.... i ended up going with stormcast eternals...

Great battle report. The flamespyre pheonix wake of fire ability only works on a normal move. So that doesnt include run moves unfortunately.

Aaaaaaah guys I love your channel so much but there is almost always major mistakes that kills the excitement of the battrep. The assassin dying from an ability that shouldn't have triggered and the frost heart Phoenix coming back is not OK. That kills the game. I'd love to become a vault member but you guys need to check theses things. Prepare more I don't know but it's just not as fun. Frustration but I love so much your attitude.

I’d love to come visit to play AoS (or another game I have LotR, 40K and Fantasy). My problem is that I don’t base my miniatures. Unless just painting the base green, brown, white, or something that looks like the ground and not adding any texture or something is good enough haha.

Basing can be easy with some PVA glue(i.e. Elmer's glue), sand, tea leaves, and pebbles for a natural-looking environment

@@mwgjosh5161 I basically run the same army minus the Assassin with a bombardier and no thanquol but add a bell and warpfire thrower. The rats have lots and lots of rules!

ngl, would really wish Matt would chop out a lot of the mathhammer and 'what if' scenarios... Let the opponent do what he's going to do and deal with what you have to deal with instead of adding a bunch of words that aren't applicable to the situation. Makes it hard to track what's happening when I'm listening and trying to build/paint things.

It's great to see people still playing Warhammer, but honestly Age of Sigmar just doesn't do it for me. I really miss the large ranked units that made WFB armies look so impressive.

...and then the Games Workshop came and butchered all the Phoenixes in the Cities of Sigmar. As well as many aelves and duardins. As Greenskinz before. I sympathize with this grief: most of my Age of Sigmar miniatures are fantasy legacy, on round bases and adapted to the Mortal Realms. And here they will die: there is no turning back!

Why don't people tend to use legendary Lords? I've gained an interest in the tt game after playing total war games so have no idea of the rules

Because named leaders tend to cost a bit much more points for a cool rule, but since they are unique, you can't customize them by giving an command trait if it's the general, and maybe an artifact. So, for that reason, you almost never see a named leader being the general.

You forego choosing some of the buffs a hero may get if they're a named character. Also, the total war games are set in the Warhammer Fantasy universe, which is different from Age of Sigmar. Its the same general aesthetic and certain characters carried over like Gotrek, Lord Kroak and Morathi, but most died during the End Times in Warhammer Fantasy.

Why can't you Redeploy AND do Unleash Hell on the same Unit? Redeploy is in the movment phase and Unleash Hell is in the Charge Phase? I don't see the problem using both
