Almost all of citizen’s songs remind me eerily of the winter or lots of snowing especially at night. Kind of melancholic but I LOVE it. Up there with TSSF and Knuckle Puck for me

They've written some excellent songs. This one sticks out as a Father and the struggle and general up and downs of raising and keeping a family intact. Or just love in general. Making it through the tough times more than anything. Unlike today. Just being there and following your heart. Even when you've come close to giving up. Resolvement through better communication and understanding. Leave the resentment at the door.

Sounds to me it's about the struggles of being a popular musician, having everyone smiling and singing along to songs about your struggles as if it's just a catchy song, when you've put a lot of thought and emotion into it.
