Citizen Exceed AR4000 - the HAQ that went under the radar

I think few people realise this watch exists.
The Exceed line is Citizen's answer to an affordable HAQ and the AR4000 can definitely exceed your requirements.
Yes, the main draw of this watch is the 10secs a year movement. But you'll marvel at many other impressive highlights including full-Ti build with Duretect, 6.7 thickness, and sub-60gram weight.

Congratulations! Pretty amazing the value you can get from these mainstream brands in Japan. My experience with Citizen's Super Titanium & Duratect scratch-resistance is that for day-to-day office or gentle wear, it will resist almost all scuffing and scratching. But, if you strike it with blunt force or try scratching it with a screwdriver, then it will mar and scratch. Seiko's Diashield (diamond shield) coating, at least on the titanium I got from the Seiko Selection model range, works the same. I've had mine for half a year and the case and bracelet are scratch-less.

Citizen JDM do a few HAQ models, 10s, 5s and even 1s per year. All are so conservatively styled to the point of being boring looking. Why can't they put that movement in a dive watch like the BN or NY ?? 😮

@AndyinSG Grand Seiko do/ did a few HAQ and Springdrive divers of course at 3000 to 10000 Usd !!! Citizen seem to be a lot better value. They come under the radar a bit? 🫡
