I own the NY0086 Pepsi on the stock bracelet and I’m loving the bracelet. It does feel cheap but is so darn comfortable and looks amazing on wrist 👍🏻

Got this watch a month ago before my first diving trip to be the official dive watch and fully lumed dial in my collection. I immediately loved that super legible lume dial, distinctive hour markers and hand set, and lefty crown that set this watch apart from all other classic/heritage dive watches, and makes the Citizen NY0040 line the best affordable certified dive watch IMO. I also like it on the bracelet, and the divers extension works really well. After spending a lot of time under water with it, I can say this watch does what it says it’ll do and it’s one of my favorites!

Apparently that play in the bezel is to meet ISO certification. The bezel needs to function properly with a certain amount of grit/sand/dried sea salt underneath. I slipped and fell into while wearing my SKX on a hike, and mud got underneath the bezel, and it was essentially welded into place. I had to take it apart and clean it for it to function again. As far as the bracelet goes, I will put mine on a Nato anyway, so I'll bypass the bracelet and go for the rubber. Good review!

Mine came with the rubber strap. I bought an aftermarket metal strap for about $30.00. The lume shines like a torch.

The lume is not meant to light up the nightstand...it's made to glow vibrantly underwater in low light situations.

I recently bought one from Gioiapura and pleasantly surprised that mine came with the novelty plastic Promaster scuba tank jewel case when I was expecting a plain grey market Citizen box. It has the newer hacking Miyota 8024 and Citizen either removed the ambiguous and incorrect 8023 printing at the bottom of the dial at the 6 o'clock position (that people cite who bought it during the movement changeover) or Citizen increased the chapter ring a wee bit to cover it as I cannot see any movement markings on the dial. 8024 is only indicated on the caseback.

@@coldpizzawatchreviews Only thing I do not like is the printed black bezel insert. It looks like a Casio. Not that there is anything wrong with a Casio as I love Casio but if I wanted a Casio diver I would have bought a Casio diver. I have a couple of other higher end Aqualands and the bezel markings are stamped. So I ordered a stainless steel aftermarket bezel insert from Yobokies. I may get the aftermarket domed sapphire crystal as well and have it replaced on the first service.

Did yours's come with an Italian language datewheel? I'd purchase from Gioiapura with a premium just for that.

Lastly, I think the aftermarket bracelet is better quality, I have no issues with it. Mine comes with an Miyota 8204 hacking hand winding movement.

Yep the rubber straps on both Citizen and Seiko are not comfortable. I’m thinking of a leather strap as I’ve seen some pictures of them looking great on Leather.

I bought this as well rom an Italian seller on eBay. They shipped to the USA with 2 day fedex. Impressive. I like this watch, I like the dial, but the lume does not really help with legibility. It would be improved if the minute and hour hands were all black without any lume on. The thin outline does not help.

Are the hands black or silver?

Both versions exist. My theory is that in 2020/21, more of the silver hands were in rotation, later more of the black hands. I prefer the latter
