I bought both Down the Rabbit Hole and Relentless on Amazon. I'm so glad to have found a band that seems to say what I can't, they can speak the words I can't find. I'm learning now how to speak the pain I've been feeling after 14 years of abuse, I'm 28, learning who I am, learning how to not be in survival mode, learning how to let go of these walls, but it's so hard. "Hope it haunts you" video even says in the description that the ones we loved the most leave the ugliest scars. I was a kid, my own family did this to me, and it's not fair that I have to learn how to be "normal" now. Even to this day I still deal with their shit, and I'm done. If they wanna keep trying to make me feel less than, I'm gonna make it clear that if they're intent on forcing me into a corner, they're not worthy of being in my life.

@reb35454 жыл бұрын
I'm always in awe of the wording you guys choose for your songs. Idk what it is exactly, but something about it makes the lyrics so extremely impactful. Would Anyone Care and Mess of Me especially stick out (although for 2 different reasons) For Mess of Me, the line "I'm ashamed, I'm afraid" can be read in 2 ways, being ashamed AND afraid, and being ashamed OF BEING afraid (ik the former is probably the intention, but both interpretations are just so fitting for the subject matter). I love the duality of that And Would Anyone Care is just... wow. Normally when people talk about suicide, it always feels like we choose more... violent words, almost. But saying stuff like "stepped off the ledge" instead of jump, and "gave up and turned out the light"... it's chilling. It feels softer, and does a much better job of giving people who have never experienced such a thing a perspective on what being suicidal is REALLY like than any awareness campaign I've ever seen. And it's haunting. It's so hard (in my experience at least) to find something that takes that softer wording and still hits hard and invokes such sorrow Love your music. Keep up the great work

Please don't give up the fight, if you have ever felt how I have or if you've ever been through anything like me, we're more special than the blank people can even begin to imagine. I realised a long time ago that people who are ill with depression are actually the people who see the world for what it really is and it's the fear from that, that makes us so hurt, so upset and so scared. All things people feel deeply when suicidal. we have a gift to see the world and other people for what they really are. What we do with that gift is up to us. The lie depression tells us all is that we're alone with this gift, but that's not true. There are hundreds of thousands of us. All yearning for a better world, a better life, a reason to live. We are the children of the world, and we are the ones who have a flame in all of us, a flame that allows us to do anything we can imagine. And with an open mind and the eyes to see the world for what it is in every detail, we have the power to fix everything that's wrong. When enough of us realise and unite, that's when progress can be made. If you understand what I'm saying, please like this so I know I'm not alone.

Thank god I had my autoplay on and the song would anyone care started playing. I was studying for school and when I heard the first seconds of this song I stopped thinking and started feeling, I cried when I first heard this song. It really touches my heart. You guys do this with all your songs🖤. I haven't been a fan for a long time, but I love your music. Keep going😊🖤

I found you guys when I was in a really dark place... I had just lost someone very close to me, and I nearly lost another... So thank you. Not only have you brought me solace, but you've given me the strength to give solace too. I'll treasure your music's message all my life. Keep being amazing, I'll always be here to listen.

I am not okay, 🥲 I have so many scars and people still judge me. I have lived through so much. I survived a brain tumor, I survived organs dying from forming wrong, I survived someone attempting to take my life, and I have been hated so much for just being who I really am by so many. I tried to take my own life multiple times over. Its hard to talk with anyone because no one understands or could understand. My therapists all quit on me.

This band makes such amazing music! The first song I ever heard from you guys was "Would Anyone Care", and I fell in love after only 30 seconds! Your music is so deep and amazing!

I'm here again to heal my soul again...trying to eat while listening to citizen soldier in tears.... you are true soldiers from the citizens....the healer of the broken souls... its so damn hard to be treated like a princess since young but never had the feeling of love since the teenager ages....I cant even talk very well and this cause difficulities to express my feelings as how i wanted to or to describe what I truly want. But this would never be understood from someone. I tried it before and im still trying but my anger of missunderstood turns into hate of everything....and then...i lock myself in my room in tears... screaming silently in tears. Ik there are some people that have it even worse than me but i personaly cant handle it anymore. I just got tried of fake love...(I mean general, not relationships) and switching emotions every like 2 months. As for citizen soldier....i truly admire that they are trying to help people but as for me...it is only a circle. I mean as soon as I get better, my whole world is falling down again. Idk what kind of sickness it is (for not talking well and difficulties to express feelings etc). Idk if citizen soldiers goal is to let people express themselves through music or let your soul speak through your body (tears) because it is actually good to cry. As long as they are helping just for the moment, I gotta say thank you again. They are keeping us at least alive and let us know that we are not alone that we are feeling this way ♥ thank you... -sry for my bad english by the way-
