In the late 90s I had a beautiful black 900 turbo S aero 16v that I rebuilt after an engine bay fire. It was what first caught the eye of my “current” wife! The car dated her for some time and I was allowed to come along too if I promised to be quiet! We have now been married for 25 years and have two young petrol heads and she still says she misses her Saab. In many ways I owe everything to that wonderful Saab. 😂

Citroën had a very different way of doing things. Shame they don't still do that.

Citroen don't exist anymore but you can have a Peugeot with a Citroen badge on it. 😢

Even today, after well over 20 years of loving the 2CV, it still amazes me that the suspension is tied together with something so thin when compared to the springs it's pulling against, but it works, and is very rare to break a 2CV spring like modern cars seem to do if they even look at a pothole, it's just so cleverly simple... :)

I was at LeMans Classic 100 the other weekend, there were loads of Meharis bipping about.

🙂 1:14 The joy of Haynes manuals! Funny how I kept them even after the cars had gone off to the great motorway in the sky. Every ripped and oil fingerprinted page a memory of frustrating times where the car had to be towed off to the garage or happy ones where I actually fixed something!

They are so nice to have around ! and to look in... even when the cars are gone!

And an additional thought; beware of the torque numbers in the Haynes manuals, they can sometimes be way too high and can risk breaking bolts and stripping threads, the worst one being the cylinder head bolts that with their torque number will ruin the block in no time, as has happened to many a duck owner caught out by this...

I feel that I cant really trust the threads and bolts if they cant cope with the factory specs... But yes... those cylinder heads...

Pull rod...

Sorry but its all wrong, those are not pushrods, they are pull- rods. And when the front tires hit a bump the rear is pulled up.
