After all the spyshots of interiors I was a bit skeptical about this product - But after Kartikeya's take on this car I would certainly give it a chance.. I mean a brand choosing to be mechanically better at the cost of omitting few features for staying in the competitive price bracket is something I personally would respect. Let's wait for the test drives.

yeah its a practical car. things like cooled glove box old style hood switch rear arm rest are not a necessity but a kind of luxury which wont be a deal breaker for most of the car buyers , esp for first time buyer

Few features?? These are basic features they have omitted! They are very much required for safe driving! Manually adjustable ORVM, No day night IRVM, No rear wiper is an absolute no go unless it's an entry level car like an Alto! Horrible decision!

I am going to be a first car buyer this year and if I go for this, it would feel like a step-down, with so many missing features and many features that they gave, being outdated. Except for the brand value, I dont think there is any logical upside to buying this. There's nothing ground-breaking that it is doing for it to do sooooo much cost cutting on the feature side. I'm sure, it would be priced on the higher side as well 🤷

Citroen has done a fantastic job here. They stick to the basics and focused to offer the most comfortable ride on Indian roads in this segment. Bravo 👏 👏 👏

@@SirKart I believe it is decent, but missing out on some things which are like day night mirrors, rear wipers. led tail lamps and maybe projector headlights for top spec versions, movable headrests*, AMT, optional center armrest / console would help. Adding these items would definitely kill the coopetition for the quality on the price to offer. missed out on the wheels 195x65 R15 is a awesome spec for this car, none of the competition has this wide a section treads same as my 7 year old Punto Evo. if the team at Citroen can cover those essential misses would put it up with Kia's offering. The similar vehicle currently in this form factor is the Tata Punch. which should be a good point for Citroen to establish their sales and value in India.

@@SirKart Dear Kartik, honestly your presentation was excellent as always, but this time it sounded more like a branded content, although you mentioned the cons later. This car misses on some basic features for the segment it's been compared to. I'm sure if you had an option to take this or any other car from the same segment, you would skip this, too. This one is more like a kwid++ or wagonR+ and will surely be launched at a price at which one does have options like kiger/magnite. Citroen should do a proper market research before launching in India. And, your video title says Big Comfort! Like, seriously? Kartik, the seats have no headrests, rear seat doesn't have an armrest, there is no rear AC vents, too. All I'm requesting you to keep a balance of pros and cons. You showcased us the pros for well over 10 mins which this car seriously don't deserve, and then you took just 2 mins to cover all cons, although they're too many. Anyway, I have been a fan of your unbiased reviews since years and will continue to be so. Cheers!

I just clicked Autocar review for C3 but then I saw Kartikeya standing just below..i know this would be more entertaining.. 👍 From the day many KZbin videos showing interiors i was disappointed but Kartikeya just turned the table around... Baat badal diye, jajbaat badal diye 😀👍

I think they have picked mechanical prowess and good fit and finish over features and I respect that. Everything has to be built at a price and I like their approach.It is up to the indian market whether they'd get past this and actually go for a test drive. Now the question arise, what about safety features? That is something I cannot compromise on. Are there any options?

From a driver's point of view, the engine is great on paper... Ground Clearance is spot on for Indian roads.. Space and comfort is good enough... 6 speed gearbox... 110hp 190nm torque which is sure to make Brezza feel like a child's toy... Clutch could've been better of course...

The price for an NA engine should be between 4.5- 5 lakhs. For turbo, it should be 5.5-6 lakhs. Both ex-showroom. On-road should be 1 lakh more with the accessories. Then only it can draw customers from Maruti, Hyundai, and Tata. Otherwise, only a handful of people will be left to buy it. It's very hard to draw customers from these three brands without accessories and features. So they need to have prices low.

Kia is successful because of it's engine options and never ending list of features which Indians loves very much. Sure there's lots of cost cutting on the C3 in terms of features including some of the basic yet useful features, but the dynamics and the engine performance seems to be promising. I'm looking forward to see how it performs in India with that aggressive pricing.

Automatic ORVMs, Rear wiper & defogger, day-night IRVM, Central locking, adjustable headrest are functional and safety features which shouldn't have been missed. Instead of dual tone colour, basic digital calculator display of speedometer these functional & safety features should have taken a priority. I wish if you could talk more about NVH and if C3 is provided with an under bonnet hood insulation pad to reduce that 3 cylinder thrum. You still did a great job in reviewing the car.

Citroen has clearly not understood the Indian market. Even aggressive pricing won't save it. In India people will prefer an used car with all the features they want rather than a nee car with such omission of features I mean a car which can place rear power window knobs in the center console should do rather well ? A car which lacks a Odo in 2022 would do well. Unless they price it like a KWID it's a goner

I would ĺchoose build, fit and finish over vague features which anyways is available after market. Looks like one durable heck of a machine. Do they have the safety ratings for this Indian version of C3 ? The head rest part was the most disappointing though !!

They're definitely targetting celerio, wagonr, ignis, s-presso, kwid,tiago. It will launch under 5lacs. And they r also throwing accessories for high budget customers.

I highly doubt it. C3 engine has more power tha n all the cars you mentioned. Swift, i20, punch etc will be it's rivals.

I don't agree with the criticism here in the comments. The base prices are less. Way lesser than whats in the market in this segment. I think the customization options is excellent ao that I can exactly choose my options and that will give me more control over the final price of the car. Plus, only premium features are missing as of now. Add them to the cost, and it will give a very stiff competition to the compact SUV s and the premium hatchbacks in the market. I love that they have given the basics right, i.e the build quality, the engine quality, the comfort. I'm definitely checking it out and possibly if options given are good, definitely buy it.

That the engine's performance in its NA iteration is reasonable is a good thing. Turbo manuals are going to be very thirsty. Frankly for auxiliary boost, electric motors are more in sync with the present age rather than turbos. 3 cylinder hybrid with less than 1.2 liter displacement means considerable cost reduction. Maybe for the cost of an automatic, Citroen can offer a hybrid. An automatic with twice the mileage. Nice Review. Nice car with lots of potential. Thanks.

I think clutch pedal issue here is specific to the car being tested. Clutch pedal is light actually as per many sources. So everyone please test drive personally and take a decision. Indians need these kind of cars, not toys.

is skimping so much even acceptable for the segment its supposed to compete in? That hood release lever looks like it could break easily. I like the design of the car, both inside and out. what i dont like is the splashes of orange. I am quite sure not everyone likes loud colors on their, unless ofcourse it a sportscar. The cost cutting does not work for me, an over that not providing some basics like powered mirrors, proper boot padding, power window switches on the floor, i mean really? its supposed to be a 'premium' hatchback, forget premium, things like this shout 'cheap' I am glad they atleast got ride, handling and engines in order though missing an AT is a surprise (given that many are opting for it lately) Even if its aggressively priced (unlikely), one will have to spend a bit even on top trim for accessories like alloys, reverse camera, floor mats (i assume the ones shown arent standard) etc At least the folks at Karol Bagh will be happy, this makes a good business case for them.

I have seen your comparison of c3 and punch.8 I have a clarification to seek from you. In citroen c3 live and feel variants are available. Again in feel variants, there are five to six packs are available. Now my question is that in feel variants (1) "what is the difference between 1.2 lit. base model and 1.2 turbocharger top model." (2)is there any provision for the manufacturer to arrange the parking assist, button start/off fecility and also convert the mannual ovrms to electric and retractable version? In my openion the manufacturer has omitted these important requirements. Will you please clarify the above poinnts. I also heard that there are three types of options for purchase of improved/additional accessories. Please also throw some light on these issues.

Could we prefer Citroen C3 manual over Punch AMT for city conditions in the tough traffic like in metros? Knowing it requires less gear shifts, clutch is light from what we heard, but still could it substitute the need of an AMT in bumper to bumper indian traffic conditions?

Is citroen trying to make an alternative to tata nano coz despite having a good engine and dimensions, they transitioned themselves into 90's by removing all basic features. I think they want to offer a car at competitive pricing within 4 to 5 lakhs. I'm quite perplexed with their vision to sustain in India with such blatant mistakes skipping basic features in the name of cost cutting

Europeon cars are generally heavy and more reliable - the mechanicals are sound. These days prople seem to go for the brands which offer more features but compromise on the car's safety. I have owned a Fiat Palio 1.2 NV for 12 years (1,30,000 kms) and subsequently a Linea 1.3 MJD (1,27,000 kms +). believe me the riding pleasure and the AC chill factor are just amazing. Will you believe that there were no AC gas leaks for the first 10 years in both the cars !! the mechanic told me the high quality of the AC coils is the reason. these days the Japanese and Korean cars have AC problems after 2 years only. its only this new NGT rule these days, or these cars go on and on with simple service, if you drive them well.

In this video the white colour car is shown and explained as one with naturally aspirated engine and the grey colour car with turbo engine. But in the video of Autocar, which was also shot at the same location of Goa, the white colour car is shown and explained as the one with turbo engine and the grey colour car as with naturally aspirated. Now the readers can make their judgment of the quality of these reviews.

2 is the most efficient speed of cooling 95% cabins of any car. Speed 1 your over working the engine..thats why the engine cooling fan keeps coming on faster...speed 3 and 4 its more fan speed and air and less chill. Also citroen ac has specially "tropicalised" the AC for India (tuned for indian weather). Automatic transmission will come out by june end or july mid.(as per a source). Shine variant as all know by now is on the way. Roughly end of april.

Dear Mr Vincent Cobee. I can compromise on all the launch revelations of the C3 provided it comes with a disruptive pricing. However, the one thing I cannot compromise is the lack of electrically adjustable ORVMS. Ofcourse availability of AT is also a big miss as a lot of elderly and female customers will look elsewhere. Remember that gearless scooters revolutionized the popularity and sales among the elderly and the female clients.

While most other reviewers would start with a criticism of C3's glaring lack of equipment, Kartikeya focused on its substance and strenghts. Ride quality, handling, ride-handling balance, build quality, chassis, suspension, and seat comfort are far more important than equipment list and gimmicky features. Sadly though, the Indian buyers don't understand and respect that.

This is destined to be a failure... I mean, the Punto and Linea in its day and age were advanced enough to have lasted a decade... Whereas, this won't even last for the next two years, just like the C5 air cross has failed!!! I don't know why this group decided to go this stupid with the brand!!! They have a very good sense of the market!!!

Enjoying the drive and spending your money are 2 totally separate things! I doubt this industry leading cost cutting machine is gonna make the cut however good the engine is. Punch is selling like hot cakes, does it drive well? Absolutely not! C3 is a failure at launch itself.

I am happy, regarding the cons- quality and price manage kerne ke liye obviously kahi to cut down kerna padega. I am happy k fizul ke accessories ko cutdown kerke acha product bnaya hai. Let's hope it delivers comfort of Citroen and is safe.. (atleast 4 stars).. bas.

Should have launched this car 5 years back. Basic features are missing in a top model😕 outdated. No electronic mirror adjustments No automatic AC No automatic wipers No alloy wheels No adjustable headrest front and back No arm rest Power window switches not integrated to windows Poor metre consol No LED headlamps Poor steering wheel Cheap built plastics No armrest in rear seats No AC vents in the rear Poor gear liver design No turn indicators on side view mirrors Having said all this.. The pricing matters. Otherwise there are many other better cars available in the market.
