Great video! Very positive energy, very optimistic! You realized the flaws with the car and converted them into logic!

Thank you, we do try explain the reasons behind the manufacturers choices, and see the positive if it’s there.

Love my 1st Gen C4 Cactus, its quirky and even in silver it stands out. I was a bit disappointed that the airbumps moved from the middle of the doors to the bottom but i also like the fact that Citroen actually changed a couple of things with this version ie splitfolding rear seats, and actually added cupholders in the front 😂😂 the amount of times thumbling in the dark with a can of juice to find the rear cup holder! So much so people owning 1st gen Cactus' were 3d printing cupholders. A excellent review as always.

Had to respond, I myself really enjoyed your review due to the fact you put forward very positive things about the car. I have watched other reviewer's slagging off most of the cactus from the pop out windows and scratchy plastics. This is not a thirty grand car. I love Citroen, I have an eleven year old 1.6 hdi Xsara Picasso since new with no real issues. And because of your review my next car will be the C4 cactus, well done boys.

Thank you, glad you enjoyed the review. We like focus more on the positives, when we review a car the negatives are relative to what it costs. Bens Xsara was 17 years old and never had a problem too.

Great review. Here in Australia the post air bump Cactus is not available. The only way you can get the Progressive Hydraulic Cushion suspension and super comfort seats is a C5 Aircross. We leased a 2015 C4 Cactus 1.6l turbo diesel ETG 6 speed automoted manual, in the European spring for 8 weeks from Lisbon to Paris including UK and Ireland. 10,500 kms. Trip computer showed 4.6 litres / 100 km for the whole trip. ETG economical but flawed. Reversing into and uphill parking spot was woeful - burning clutch odor. Loved it heaps. So in June 2018 I purchased an end of model Aussie runout 1.2 turbo petrol 3 cylinder, 6 speed auto, half leather and full sunroof with full airbumps. Rides quite well, but not the magic of Progressive Hydraulic Cushions or the 60 years of DS based Hydropneumatic Suspension. (Never hydralastic - slip up mentioned here - that was first seen in the Leyland Mini) - opps. No self levelling height adjustrable, 3 wheel drivable of the DS, GS, CX, BX, Xantia, XM - plus C5 & C6 (which could not do the 3 wheel trick). Vive la diffence!!

You certainly know your Citroen history, it’s interesting to hear your experiences, and the fact it had some downfalls, you still loved it, and that’s what we call a road test. Thank you for the feedback.

That’s amazing, we don’t seem to have one manufacturer we love, we have a1991 Mk2 Golf GTI 16v, 1991 Mercedes C124 and 2001 Civic, the Citroens that sticks in our mind are the C3 Aircross and the Belingo, that had something about it, and of course you can’t forget the DS.

I really like the video. love all the details, but the frequency interference from a phone throughout the whole video is extremely annoying and makes it seem very uprofessionel. i dont say this to discourage, but as constructive feedback
@PlanetautoUK5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the feedback, we're not the only people who have challenges with this, Harry from Harry's Garage does too, its our Rode Mic and the frequency of some of the cars trackers, if you watch some of the other reviews you'll see its not there, we use the same set up each time and the results vary.
@MrPimoDK5 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for responding :) i see the problem... have you tryed with wareble mics?

Glenn Raburn Radio Mics are out of budget, they are on the list though, hopefully they’ll have adjustable frequencies.

@PlanetautoUK5 жыл бұрын
the links lizard the cabin noise is relatively quiet dependant on road surface, wind noise none to speak of, our 52 reg Xsara Picasso makes noticeable wind noise. Thank you

I'm not sure personally, I feel like the cactus series always tried a bit too hard to be quirky, like that one person who thinks not liking popular things makes them an interesting person. Other than that, I quite like it, very practical and all that.
@PlanetautoUK6 жыл бұрын
PJ and the Craxfords interesting, it’s far less quirky than the first gen, Citroen like the interesting take the Aircross, thank you.

I've just bought the Flair automatic version and whilst the car has many good qualities I'm afraid the ride isn't one of them, you feel everything on the road, it crashes over bumps and generally seems very firm except the first maybe 3 inches of travel that is soft. A mate described the ride perfectly "it's ok but nothing special"
@PlanetautoUK6 жыл бұрын
We found our model was like travelling on a cushion of air, took potholes easily,

What I’m really asking myself is how much money did it take for you to sell your soul to Citroen pop out windows really cool quality materials really come on
@PlanetautoUK6 жыл бұрын
Charlotte Sutherland if we could have pop out windows in the Mk2 Golf, we’d be very happy. It is cool, the materials are good, it stands out and it’s quick enough for a great price. What don’t you like about the materials, no Nappa leather or something else?
@charlottesutherland72426 жыл бұрын
Planet Auto I was already aware of the materials been sub standard and a pop out window for rear passengers but the car was still high on my cars to consider as comfort is my top priority so what I’m really getting at is after those comments you made your whole review had no credibility and any thing you said about comfort must be taken with a pinch of salt ie how much were you paid
@PlanetautoUK6 жыл бұрын
Charlotte Sutherland many disagree with you, hence the growing number on British roads, car companies don’t pay reviewers, as for sub standard hardly. It sounds like you haven’t given the car a chance let alone experienced it for a decent amount of time. As for overall, the dampers on our model made the ride very comfortable, even at speed under sporty handling conditions, mind you Citroen developed hydro elastic years ago. There are hard plastics of course, however the interior is presented in funky way, most cars and crossovers have hard plastics, if you want Luxury try the DS7.
